Despite touring with the bands like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and the Offspring(who are excellent live) the Voodoo Glo Skulls have never seemed to manage to reach the level of their peers. Its hardly down to laziness either, with 'Symbolic' being their sixth album in seven years. Always up for a party, the Californian ska-punk group throw together a wild mix of dub, funk, cheesy guitar solos and hip hop and, as ever it doesnt take long to get into the swing of things. However the mad cap horn section are let loose and ensures a case of everything going radio rental, with 'El Mas Chingon' featuring Reverend Horton Heat, providing a full on skank and rock and roll fest. Unfortunately, they lose marks on account of a mediocre version of 'I shot the sheriff'...don't even go there!!
