I am quite a fan of the Little Black Dress series of books, so I decided to have a browse on Amazon for ones which sounded like a good read. I came across this one after a while, and it had rave reviews. Also, on a book forum I am a member of, they couldn't recommend it highly enough to me so I decided I would have to get it to have a go. And as usual, the book didn't disappoint!

Advantages: A remarkle story, truly inspirational Disadvantages: Emotional in places
This book is the follow on from 'The Luxury of Time', and tells the story of Jane Tomlinson's remarkle battle against cancer. While many people would lie down and accept the fight, Jane undertakes a set of challenges which would be hard enough for the fittest people to complete, never mind somebody suffering from terminal cancer. This book covers her journeys - from her bicycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands End, her 'Rome to Home' bicycle challenge, her Ironman, her cycle ride across America, amongst other gruelling challenges.
This book has both Jane and her husband Mike telling their own parts of the story. Jane begins, and it alternates around between her and Mike. In the decades following their formation, 7 Seconds tirelessly carried the torch of Southern California hardcore punk with unmatched ferocity and determination. TAKE IT BACK, TAKE IT ON, TAKE IT OVER, their 2005 melodic thrash-fest, proves the band is vital as ever. The set list--consisting of three-chord songs chiseled into tight structures--blasts by with brute force. With hardly a pause between tracks (which usually clock in under two minutes), the listener barely has time to exhale. In addition to the jackhammer drums of Troy Mowat, the lead vocals of Kevin Seconds, and the bright, razor-like production of Bill Stevenson (of Descendents fame), what impresses about the album is its share of catchy melodic hooks. The chorus of "Still on It," for example, approximates bubble-gum pop, with its bouncing harmonies and infectious repetitions. Sure, the combination of sing-along themes and in-your-face aggression may sound familiar, but 7 Seconds are the elder statesmen of the punk-pop genre, and TAKE IT BACK announces that they still have a thing or two to teach the younger generations.
