Cover versions of songs by people like Tom Paxton and Jacques Brel failed to consolidate his appeal to the mainstream. The 1970's saw a massive change, starting in 1971 with his "Take Me Home Contry Roads." This is a song which I am sure you all have heard: Almost Heaven, West Virgina, Blue Ridge Mountain, Shanando River, Life is Old there, Older than the Tree's, Younger than the Mountains, Blowing like the Breeze, Take me Home Country Roads, Back to the Place I Belong, West Virgina, Mountain Moma, Take me Home, now Country Roads! Is It Love *** MY OPINION *** It seems like only yesterday but "Can't Take Me Home", Pink's debut album was actually released back on May 29th 2000. It's hard to believe she has been around so long, but she has! "There You Go" was a great example of funky r & b at its best, similar in tone and style to tunes such as "No Scrubs" or "Bills Bills Bills" - hardly surprising given that it was co-written by the same people! The lyrics are quick-witted, the singing quick-tongued and its set over a very cool, urban backing track. "There You Go" is a tune which sets the general tone of the album.
