Advantages: Full of seemingly obvious pointers Disadvantages: Steve Krug isn't in my team
Don't Make Me Think! - Steve Krug is sub-titled "A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability", but it's much more than that. The principals can be applied to many other areas where you expect s 'user' to be able to use something.
So, if you are interested in User Interfaces, whether website, computer program or even beyond that into the tactile world of devices, then this book is a must-read for you.
If you actually design Websites and/or User Interfaces and you *haven't* read this book, then WHY NOT?
Steve Krug is a legend in operability and once you've gone through this book you will understand why. It's a practical, no nonsense guide to what you should and shouldn't do to make it easy for visitors toyour site.
Written in a very matter-of-fact manner, it is an easy and quick read. I found it hard to put down and learned a lot from ...
Advantages: unconditional love always Disadvantages: letting go is so hard
home, much to his occasional pained gasps as you hung on to him and purred into his ear! My efforts to remove you resulted in muffled curses and bloodshed...*g*
From the time we got home though, you attached yourself tome and promptly became MY CAT! We got another kitten, a stray from the hospital, whom we called Rastus. He adored you, but you tolerated him with gentle disdain. All your affection was reserved for me. You would keep me warm at night by curling across my neck like a furry scarf on winters nights - a habit that endured until the children were born.
Over the years you even got rid of unwanted visitors! One visitor who was being a pest got the "Tammy Special" treatment. You just climbed his trouser leg from the inside! His yelps were blood-curdling! Needless to say I couldn't actually physically remove you ...
Advantages: A good story Disadvantages: Dated, DiCaprio, some unpleasant scenes
Garland, but he seems to be quite a storyteller if this film can be taken as evidence. He sends these young people (and Leo DiCaprio's Richard seems very young and immature) off on an adventure in search of paradise, which they find, but soon they begin to learn that nothing in life is as it seems.
The character of Richard is spectacularly irritating. He is so immature, and has no idea about real life or relationships and emotions. I think DiCaprio was a good choice toplay him - Danny Boyle has famously claimed the studio went over his head to cast DiCaprio instead of his choice and regular lead actor, Ewan McGregor. I'm a huge fan of McGregor, I love him, but Idon't think he would have been right in this role - DiCaprio played the right blend of innocence, naivety and arrogance for the character.
I found the dialogue very stilted in ...

Album Notes
Producer: Billy Sherrill. Reissue producers: Dave Nives, Barry Feldman. Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee from July-October 1967. Originally released on Epic (26353). Includes liner notes by Laura Cantrell. Tammy Wynette came to virtually define the modern female country singer. She emerged in the mid-1960s, with a soulful, Patsy Cline-influenced voice and a sweetened, more produced variation of the classic honky-tonk sound. This set is a reissue of an album released January 1968, and it's a gem. Billy Sherrill's production suits Wynette's singing well: it's understated, it gives her singing plenty of room to soar. There's nice instrumental elements as well (the faraway-sounding pedal steel guitar on "It's My Way"), and just the right amount of "the pop touches" (plush strings, backing choruses). If you want to hear where Chely Wright, Reba McEntire and k.d. lang got their inspiration, check this out.
