"Finders Keepers" video involves scenes cutting between a fighting couple and the band performing. I like this video because of ... ...Rumour.

Who are they?
You Me At Six are a pop punk band formed in 2004 but finally catching their break in 2007 with Slam Dunk Records. The band are from Weybridge, Surrey and are formed of: Josh Franceschi - Vocalist Chris Miller - Lead Guitarist Max Helyer - Rhythm Guitarist and Backing Vocals Matt Barnes - Bass Guitarist Dan Flint - Drummer They have supported the likes of Fightstar, New Found Glory, The Audition, Angels & Airwaves and Fall Out Boy.
Singles and Videos
They have made a name for themselves having a number 1 single on the Kerrang charts: "Save It For The Bedroom" although this song had to be re-released because of its limit of 1000 records. The band took the chance to also change the video, which previously featured them performing in front of a crowd. They changed the video to a Jerry Springer like show (The Lazarus Ironside Show) where the band are shown as having problems, which their 'family' and 'girlfriends' try to be rid of. The problems being: "Is My Son A Necrophilliac" "Is our Grandson a hoodie." "I suspect my husband is having an affair... with the dog" "My boyfriend is an exhibitionist" and my personal favourite; "our son refuses to be an intolerant bigot and is bringing shame on our family with his liberal thinking."
The second single release for You Me At Six was "If I Were In Your Shoes" (March 2008). The video was a Kerrang Exclusive which means it has not been shown on TV much or at all. It is a simple video of the band performing in a white room.
The third single release was "Gossip" (July 2008), the video features Josh walking through a house party meeting people and watching as the party gets wild. The video was directed by Greg Allan.
The fourth single release was "Jealous Minds Think Alike" (September 2008), the video is the band performing in a shipping/storage yard waiting for the sun to rise. This song was the final single to be released for Take Off Your Colours the normal edition.
The band went onto complete the Take Off Your Colours: Deluxe Edition which would involve 5 new songs, which include the already released "Finders Keepers", and the soon to be released "Kiss and Tell" "Finders Keepers" video involves scenes cutting between a fighting couple and the band performing. I like this video because of the dramatic camera style used, such as the slow motion of the water from the shower, and slow motion expressions and smashing of milk bottles.
Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition features 5 new songs: Kiss and Tell Finders Keepers Sweet Feet All Your Fault Blue Eyes Don't Lie
The Album
The album was produced by Matty O'Grady & John Mitchell and was recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading.
1. The Truth Is A Terrible Thing: The song starts with a strong and thick guitar and drum intro lasting around 40 seconds which is usual for YMAS. The lyrics are strong which is a YMAS usual, as their lyrics give a "what have you" attitude. Making you think, enough is enough. The drum and bass is very strong in this song.
2. Gossip: The intro is long (15 seconds) as usual for YMAS, with simple drum beats and guitar, beginning with "whoa ohs". The song has a pretty simple drum beat though the guitar is intricate changing throughout the song. The lyrics aren't as powerful as many of the other songs.
3. Call That A Comeback?: I like the opening of this song with just the guitar playing and then joining in the drums with the lyrics. The song is quite upbeat, though not as much as the others because the chorus slows down. The lyrics are strong but the song isn't the best on the album.
4. Jealous Minds Think Alike: The song is unusual as it begins with guitar pitch bending and strong drums. A lot of continuous strumming is used in this song, which is a change. The lyrics in the song are pretty strong, with the usual attitude that YMAS show in their songs.
5. Save It For The Bedroom: The song begins with continuous strumming and the lyrics begin before the drum is entered, making the song different than the others. The lyrics and title are about relationships, and I believe that the lyrics are strong. Dismissing peoples' attitudes to relationships: "your jealousy doesn't sit with me", "who's keeping score on who is a whore?" Nearing the end of the song, Josh and the band continuously sings "save it for, save it for the bedroom, save it for, save it for the bedroom." YMAS also do this in another song: The Rumour.
6. Take Off Your Colours: The band begin their album named song differently with musical effects going into a short guitar intro. The obvious metaphor of the song name is shown in the lyrics, "who are you hiding from?" Which are pretty strong and meaningful as always.
7. You've Made Your Bed (So Sleep In It): The guitar opening is pretty mellow differing from the other song openings. The lyrics are very stand-off-ish like YMAS like to do, as I said before with their "what have you" attitudes. Giving strength and deep meaning to their songs: "The games that girls will play, makes me move away so I can train, train myself to trust again."
8. If You Run: This songs intro reminds me a lot of Pressure by Paramore. Though the song is not as memorable, only really the words "If You Run" stick in my head. Which is unusual for YMAS songs, since they normally stick in my head. This song is upbeat but has not got the strength of a song like Finders Keepers.
9. Tigers And Sharks: I like this song because of its funky guitar melody, it is also laid back showing another side to YMAS, other than their upbeat melodies. The song creeps out of this calm atmosphere in the chorus, but alternately switches between quite strong guitar and funkified guitar. YMAS also use symbols effectively in this song, coupled with the funky guitar.
10. If I Were In Your Shoes: This has a short guitar intro, with what I would call fast guitar strumming and melody. This isn't one of my favourites as the lyrics are not as memorable, though they do have meaning like always.
11. Always Attract: This is my favourite song on the whole album because it is the softest, most chill song. The lyrics are very strong, coupled with most of the song being a calming acoustic, which is a speciality of YMAS. I also like this song because of the female vocals given by Elissa Franceschi, the lead singer’s sister. Coupled with her brothers vocals perfects the track, and shows off Josh's vocal range. Nearly 4 minutes into the song, violins enter to enter the progression of the song, in which the electric guitar and drums are brought in. Perfectly contrasting with the change from acoustic.
12. Nasty Habits: The intro is a familiar guitar intro, which I like, this is another of my favourites with good lyrics, and seems to be the first song without the actual title being in the song. It is about first meetings: "the ice to break".
13. The Rumour: The lyrics start straight away which is unusual for YMAS, as most of their songs have a guitar intro. This song is not very upbeat it is more melody than dancy music. The song has Josh and the band singing continuously like in "Save It For The Bedroom" singing, "Hold your hands in, into the air. Hold your hands as, as if you care" After a while getting really close to the song, screaming is heard along with these words.
14. Kiss and Tell: This song has a very thick guitar intro, to me it is very different to the others on the album, though it is very good, and I can see why they chose it as their next album. It is very upbeat and can easily be danced and sang along too. This is definitely a reflection of YMAS with their "what have you" attitude. You can feel them singing the song at you.
15. Finders Keepers: The song gets straight into the lyrics. I like the lyrics of the song and I think are the most meaningful out of all of the song: "I could barely eat and it’s been three whole weeks since I heard you speak."
16. Sweet Feet: I like this song as it is quite rhythmic and low beat, though the title is unusual the song
17. All Your Fault: This also gets straight into the lyrics, and has a calmer feel than some of the others, with the guitar being heard over the blended in drums. This song is about self profession: "I wish I was.."
18. Blue Eyes Don't Lie: I like the thick electric guitar opening which lasts for about 20 seconds, with good catchy lyrics, though I don't think this has as much of a meaning as the others.
What's next
The Band is planning on releasing their next single: Kiss and Tell. And are in the works of their next album named: It's Wrong and Right.
You Me At Six are one of my favourite bands, and I absolutely love the album and I can't wait for the next one. Thanks for reading =]
