...'Forgiven Not Forgotten' was a fantastic discovery for new Corrs fans on the back of their 1998 UK breakthrough with it's followup 'Talk on Corners'. Though less commercial and harder edged than the second album, it is the Corrs on top form displaying there fantastic combination of pop- rock and celtic melodies. Originally released in 1995, it was a bestseller in their homeland as well as Europe and Asia. The cover and sleeve are basic, with a traditional Irish edge just like thir music. Just incase you aren't familiar with The Corrs, they are three sisters and a brother from Dundalk in the rep. of Ireland. They are Andrea- vocals and whistle, Sharon- violin, Caroline- drums, piano and bodhran, and Jim- guitar and keyboards. The Irish siblings are now well known for their pop tunes interweaving... Ah, yes, in the discography of the German Fantasy-Metalband Blind Guardian. Okay, so let's see what we got here: The Forgotten Tales... This album can not be considered as a regular Blind Guardian album indeed. It was born out of the idea to try something different and make some coverversions. Advantages: New direction, catchy melodies, all killer no filler
Disadvantages: very different to previous releases. Old school fans may be disappointed

...tales don't tell themselves is the newest album release from welsh quintet, funeral for a friend. this album explores new ground for the band which may interest or disapoint you depending on whether your an old school fan of their previous albums. a lot has changed since the last debut, 'hours', tales dont tell them selves is a lot lighter and warm hearted with simpler melodies and less hard core riffs and rather agressive vocals. Funeral for a friend have been tied under the "emo" genre for some time, despite the bands beliefs, however with the release of tales dont tell themselves funeral for a friend have been very succesful in escaping this common tag. this is a highly recomended album but for those expecting the traditional ffaf style then you may feel disapointed. regardless you shoud still check it out as you may also grow to like...
