Recorded within eight weeks of Tango Zero Hour, the recording Astor Piazzolla voted, ... more
rightly, as his career's best, this Suite for Vibraphone and New Tango Quintet reaches similar heights of perfection. Vibraphonist Gary Burton made high marks early in his career with the superquartet recording Duster (which featured guitar great Larry Coryell and jazz vets Steve Swallow on bass and Roy Haynes on drums) and the jazz expanse of Genuine Tong Funeral. With Piazzolla's last quintet, Burton creates a stirring, metallic counterpoint to the group's sliding melodies and gut-grabbing rushes of tango sensation. This is certainly no lighthearted dance music, much more brainily reaching for compositional greatness while simultaneously staying physical. All the cylinders were firing during this live Montreux Festival recording. Piazzolla's energy has delicate brushstrokes and sweeping blasts, as does guitarist Hector Malvicino and the quintet's other luminaries. --Andrew Bartlett

Advantages: Gorgeous sultry tango music for late-night listening. Disadvantages: Only about 40 minutes of music, not to everyone's taste.
Argentinian AstorPiazzolla was responsible for the creation of "tango nuevo", or new/modern tango, fusing traditional tango music with jazz and classical elements. (If you know of Gotan Project, he was an inspiration for them - they also sometimes play his compositions.) While most of the other albums he recorded are sparklingly precise, this one is slightly rougher round the edges, often slow, sultry, even dirty - and deliberately so, Piazzolla himself said the music on this album was "meant to be played by drunk musicians in a bordello". Which is fair enough, given that is exactly where the tango originated.
This is a late recording, made in 1987 (he died in 1992) and features a small group of musicians playing piano, violin, bass, electric guitar, clarinet/alto sax, and bandoneon, which Piazzola himself plays - he did so ...
Advantages: Tasty Disadvantages: Probably not as good as Fanta...
Kids today will probably think of Tango as a poor man's Fanta. I remember a time when it ruled supreme, with adverts of men in orange body suits going round slapping people. It was a wonderful time. But has the orange stuff stood the test of time? Can it compete with the Fanta market?
It sprung up controversy recently when it's advertising slogan was "Tango With Added Tango"...nothing untowards there, but as the slogan put the words on top of one another, if you put the first letters of each of the words together then you'll see the problem...see what I mean?!
Tango is simply an orange fizzy drink filled with sugar and sweeteners. on the black and orange can, it does state that 65% of people preferred Tango to other leading orange fizzy drinks in a blind taste test. Why? Well, it's a strong, sweet orange flavour - much better ...
Advantages: No clumping, lovely lashes Disadvantages: I can't find any online
Considering my tube of Margaret Astor mascara was free with a magazine, it is one of the best items of make up I have ever used.
I might not still have the magazine, let alone remember which one it was, but 7 months later I am still faithfully using my Margaret Astor Magic Style mascara. I have very sensitive eyes - anything remotely perfumed is out, and Maybelline Great Lash is a big no-no. Margaret Astor however is just right.

In a nice, sleek silver tube, this is a simple yet attractive tube of mascara. It doesn't look cheap but nor is it snobbish. The top/wand has a clear plastic rounded end with a cute little flower on it. This logo adorns all of the Margaret Astor range. At approximately 4 inches long, the tube fits in any small makeup bag or you can pop it in your handbag to use after work or on a night out ...
