...Suite and Concertos for Recorder
Introduction
Composed by George Philipp Telemann, the CD was released on 3rd June 2002 on the Naxos label. It retails at approximately £4.99 and is available at most music stores. The CD has a playing time of 75 minutes.
The CD comprises of a Suite and three concertos. A suite is a set of instrumental works intended to be performed together. The typical Baroque suite was a combination of dance movements. Telemann, however, played an important part in the development of the suite and its changing format to that of the classical period. In the suite presented on this CD, the movements are a mix of dance and chamber music. Telemann claimed to have composed about two hundred suites of which over half have some sort of concerto writing in them.

Advantages: The whole album is very good Disadvantages: Lyrics in french !!!
...I invite you to discover what is to me the best album of the year 2000 from a french singer : “Marcher dans le sable” by Gérald De Palmas.
If you like many other french singers like Jean-Jacques Goldman, you will recognize his style. Goldman brings his help to De Palmas for this third album, after a doubt period for this singer, in a song (the first single extracted from this album) : “J’en rêve encore”.
You’ll find a bewitching music during the whole album which contains 12 tracks and about 45 minutes of music.
Maxime Le Forestier, an other famous french singer (famous in France, perhaps in UK, I don’t know !!!), also brings his contribution in a track : “Tomber”.
This album was nominated for the last “Victoires de la Musique”, the equivalent of your MTV Music...

Advantages: A few really good tracks, some De La Soul tunes you have never heard before Disadvantages: The album has no flow, a few weak remixes
...***Warning*** This review does contain some edited adult language and themes. The words have been changed but the meaning is plain.
In the stacks of wax you can find the De La Mix: Remixes, Rarities & Classics, De La Soul's 2004 release on Tommy Boy/ Rhino. This is not so much a greatest hits as it is a revisiting in an alternate universe. Both commercial and critical successes are treated to a fresh dusting off, live performance or remix on this disk.
Laying down the Knowledge
For those of you that don't already know, De La Soul has been around since rap was just rap. Hip hop was just starting to take root as a music genre. There was just rap. When the boys from Long Island hit the scene there was the rap that played on the radio and the rap we listened to when our parents were out of ear shot. De La dropped 3 Feet High...
