...Everyone should remember Rickie Lee Jones for the famous songs ‘Chuck E’s in Love’, and ‘Easy Money’. She has a style that fits in with the jazzy fans of the world, her music is a melting pot of folk, jazz and rhythm and blues. Just imagine yourself sitting in a Jazz café, drinking a whiskey on the rocks in a smoke filled room and a hypnotic, laid back tune will probably be playing in the background… it’s probably Rickie Lee Jones. Her voice is addictive, it’s sweet and calming making you want to listen to her album more and more. I discovered Rickie Lee Jones about the same time I started getting into Blues, with the likes of BB King and John Lee Hooker, just two of Jazz & R&B greats. ...The others are right, the guy certainly does have a certain amount of girl appeal. I suppose you either love or hate Ricky Martin and I've got to say I love him. Having said that that doesn't mean I love all of this album. Ricky's at his best doing the more upbeat numbers of which there are quite a few on this album, the trouble is most of them have been released as singles though it's good to have them all in one place. Half of the album could almost be a Ricky Martin best of, pretty impressive for one so young, the rest of the album is filled with a few dreary ballads, but it's worth the purchase for the handful of good tracks which are there, programme those in on your stereo and get dancing!... ...If you liked her singles, then you'll love the album. I know you're probably thinking, oh god, not another Autralian soap star wannabe trying to make as a pop star. However, unlike Holly valance, etc, Delta Goodrem has actually made it. She is a very talented young woman and probably envied by most of us women out there. You can seem to connect with everyone of her songs in one way or another which is brilliant as it makes you like them more and more. the songs are very catchy and stick in your head for hours. I love this album and would definately recommend it to anybody, even those who weren't too keen on the singles as there are tracks that you may like too.... Read review
