The Corrs - Talk on Corners
The Corrs are a band who hail from Ireland. They are made up of four siblings, Jim and his three sisters, Andrea, Sharon and Caroline. I think they have a really unique sound with beautiful beautiful voices. I would describe their music and folk based with lots of meaningful lyrics. They also have quite an Irish based sound as well, on a lot of their songs there is a background Irish rythm which is what I think makes them quite a different type of mainstream band.
What I also love about them is that they all can actually play instruments and to me that is a sing of a true musician and band. They include a lot of different sounds in their songs and I really think this adds depth. For example, some of the instruments they play include the tin whistle, violin, drums, guitar and keyboard. The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult
After reading so many good reviews on Jodi Picoult I thought I would invest in one of her most recent books and see how it went. They are not the sorts of books I would usually read as I am a big fan of chick lit and the simple ease and enjoyment that reading these books bring. However I thought I would try and see if I got into it and after reading the first few pages in Morrison?s I knew this book was going to be easy to get into.
I paid £4 for this book even though the RRP price on the back is set at £6.99 pence and I could of probably got it for cheaper as since I have read it I have checked eBay and seen it second hand for a mere fraction of the new price.
The subject of the book is a rather dark one as most of Picoult?s books seem to be and this one is that of two parents going ...
Advantages: strong story line Disadvantages: weak characters.
Once again Jodi Picoult has provided us with another gripping novel, I'm amazed how she manages to consistantly write great stories on after the other. The charcater in The Tenth Circle aren't quite as strong or as well written as in some of Picoult's other works and to be honset not as likeable. The story line is strong and takes you in almost immediately. As usual with a Picoult novel things aren't as plai as they seem but once you've found the twist the ending is extremely predictable but some other questions are left unanswered. This is probably not Picoult at her best (Plain Truth or My Sister's Keeper) but it is a worthy read and you will want keep turning the pages. ...
