At one of my trips at the saloon, I was recommended some products from Paul Mitchell for my daughter, who has a frizzy and curly hair which seems to have gone in a very bad shape over the last year. I have to admit that up until this point I have never heard of this brand, so I have decided to give it a try and see if it will help getting my little daughter?s hair back in shape. Since I normally do not buy products I don?t know I have looked up on the internet to see what information I could find about Paul Mitchell products, even if it was a bit late by this point. Who is Paul Mitchell? Paul Mitchell was a hairdresser who, together with John Paul DeJoria, decided in 1980 to create a brand designed especially for hair care professionals. Epiphone Les Paul Studio

Advantages: Value for Money, Built Well
Disadvantages: Not as good sound quality as bigger budget models, Plain Design, Frets can be hard to navigate

Lets get some things straight. This is a solid guitar. For the money its built very well and plays sweetly. This is a not quite cheap as chips but not too out of budget range guitar so it can't really be expected to play like some of the higher end models. Nevertheless its still a decent bit of kit. The design though, falls short for me however. The plain black I think suits a more metal orientated (shred) type guitar but not really the Les Paul. Regardless of the colour scheme, if you are becoming an intermediate player of the guitar, and want to spend about £220 on a new axe suitable for lots of genres, (especially Hard Rock & Blues) then this may be the one for you. ...

Epiphone Les Paul Studio, a little too evil?

Advantages: Build quality, Bridge pickup, Hardware
Disadvantages: Weight, Finish

Firstly i'd like to say that for me this guitar looks rather drab and boring, as it is so plain and all in black. There is no contrast in colour and doesn't really stand out. But with that now said, i will go onto the other aspects. It has the standard les paul fittings, which are sturdy and reliable, and the tuners that hold their tuning very well. The pickups are high output and sound very heavy, which is ideal for hard rock and metal. The neck pickup sounds a bit too heavy and doesn't sound great with only light distortion but sound good clean. The guitar is quite heavy in weight and can make my shoulder ache if i've had it on the strap too long. But the weight is only due to the mahogany it is made from. It is buit very well and is also sturdy. The fitted neck is very nice and adds to the build quility. ...
