...that is in English called thank god for the silence. The album is very unique as well as Zolburgs fantastic unique voice. His voice is fantastic and is probably my most favourite vocalist ever.

...the songs in the album thank god for silence. I love the album I think I listen to it daily lol. It is possible to buy this album from most music stores and it costs anywhere from £4.00(if you get it from a great place like eBay) to £12.00. I would recommend this album if you like some good rock music by a great band and an amazing vocalist.

Ok before I start let me tell you that although on ciao it says that this album is R&B its not it’s very much rock. Anyway not that I’ve said that I shall begin my review.

HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE BAND.

Ok so I had been looking forward all month for this night. It was the end of September 2006 and I could barely keep a little bit calm. I was standing in line at Newcastle academy waiting to see one amazing band called Wednesday 13. it had been a weird day because it was Wednesday(it was the day I don’t been the band) which meant I had school but when I was in school all I could think about was the gig I was going to see. I was so excited I was counting down to the minute. I even went into this long conversation with one of the boys in my chemistry class about who I was going to see. As well as another girl in my drama class. Anyway I got home at 4.00pm and got ready which I had no time at all really cause my friends dad gave me and 2 of my friends a lift at 5.00pm.

Anyway we were all standing in line bored out of our mind but all so excited when one of the members walked by the line (unfortunately we didn’t realise it until he had walked right by us) After about 2 hours of waiting we finally got in. there wasn’t many people there which made it way better.

The first support band came on called Betty curse (which where kind of good) and then the second band came on and the minute they walked on stage I was gob smacked. They had so much energy and the talent was just dripping of them. They started to play and I knew from the minute they started playing that they were excellent. They really felt the music when they were playing and they played so well. The lead singer was deep and meaningful. And out of support bands they were THE BEST ever support band I had ever seen. They were even better than the main band that was playing.

Anyway after the gig/concert I was able to meet the bass player and the drummer and I got my ticket signed from both of them which was great. They also seemed like great guys and very friendly which I think is important cause there isn’t anything worse than when a great band is very big headed and full of them selves. But anyway they were fantastic live and in person. So when I got home (not that night but the following day) I had to check them out.

ABOUT THE BAND:
Sign are a rock band from Iceland. They came together in 2001 when they competed against 30 other bands in a battle called battle of the bands. The lead singer won best singer. They members are Zolberg on guitar and vocals, eagle on drums, Heimir on bass and A.D on guitar. There record label is r og r musik and there type of label is Indie. They have 2 albums which are based is Iceland and they have another that is in English called thank god for the silence. The album is very unique as well as Zolburgs fantastic unique voice. His voice is fantastic and is probably my most favourite vocalist ever.

THE SONGS ON THE ALBUM:

1. LIFT ME UP:
The first song of Signs album it starts with guitaring in just one ear building up for the second guitar to come in and the bass and drums and finally Zolburg singing. It’s a very good song but more so when it gets to the chorus. The song is song in English. This song has good music and good vocals. I would give this song an 8/10

2. A LITTLE BIT:
This song is fantastic it starts for about 3 seconds with the guitar then goes into all the interments. After about 18 seconds it goes into the music that is in the chorus then after about 30 seconds the music calms down and the vocals start. Building up to the chorus it gets a little bit heaver and when it’s in the chorus it’s rather heavy. The chorus is the best part with Zolburgs voice is very sort of whiney (in a very good way) I love the ending of this song where he is singing the last part of the song it’s just so capturing. I would give this song a 9/10.

3. LOVED TO BE LOVED:
Loved to be loved starts of with some good guitaring, bass and great drums. When it gets into the verses you can mainly hear the drums and the vocalist’s voice and if you listen hard enough you can hear the guitar and the bass in the background until you get to the chorus where it livens up a bit. Once again Zolburgs voice is great in this song. I would rate this at about 7/10

4. BREATHE:
This song has a lovely intro with the guitar being picked at the start and after about 22 seconds into the song the vocalist starts singing but still very calmly and soft within 1.08mins of the song you can hardly hear the lead guitar creeping in. and after the drums come in but still very slow and soft. This is a beautiful song. I would give this abut an 8/10

5. WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW:
I like this song very much, it’s a lot more upbeat compared to the previous song and once again Zolburgs voice really sets it off with his very unique voice. The chorus is good and is a little more upbeat. This song lasts for about 3mins 42secs.

6. THANK GOD FOR SILENCE.
This song has the same title as the album. I must say this has got to be my favourite song of the album. It has so much deep emotion mainly in Zolburgs voice. The chorus is fantastic it brings so much feeling to the soul. Zolburgs voice is just so powerful and inspirational. The tempo of the song is the same through the song apart from the bit where the vocalist sings “thank god for silence” where it get a little more upbeat but it is just so capturing I would have to give this song 10/10 (if I could I would give is 11 out of ten )

7. SO PRETTY:
This is a lovely song it’s very calm to start of with. it gets better as it leads up to the chorus and once again Zolburgs voice is amazing. It gets more upbeat during the chorus. I love the lyrics in the chorus the first part goes “you look so pretty when you smile, what is this feeling that makes my heart alive” its so awwwwwww lol. As it gets to the 2nd verse it calms down a bit until it gets to the chorus. I would give this song a 9/10.

8. WHEN DEMONS WIN:
This is a song that gets stuck in your head for hours. It I so catchy and the lyrics are great. It’s probably my other favourite song on the album. It’s upbeat and gets more upbeat as it leads to the chorus. During the chorus it’s slow but very upbeat. The instruments are great I mostly like the drums which stick out. I love the sound of the vocalists (ok I think I have said that I love his voice is every song so far lol) voice because is matches the music so well. I would have to give this song a 10/10.

9. –
For some strange reason this song is untitled. I have no idea why but it’s still a good song. The intro is lovely with all the instruments playing but in a very calm slow nice way after about 45 seconds Zolburgs voice comes in. once again very nice and lovely. In this song it’s soft but it almost sounds as if he is in pain and is crying out for something. His voice has so much emotion in it. I would give this song a 9/10

10. NEVER STOP ROCKIN’
The last song on the album. I think it’s a great way to end the album. It starts off with a strange ringing in the ear then heads on to the drums where then the rest of the instruments come in. I love the lyrics in the song. Zolbugs voice sounds once again amazing and goes so well with the instruments. It also has a great guitar solo init. I would give this song a 7/10.

And that’s it. That’s all the songs in the album thank god for silence. I love the album I think I listen to it daily lol.
