oh why, it could have all been so different, duran seem to have always found a way to shoot themselves in the foot, and this probably took both feet off, after the phenomenal success of the wedding album duran decided to release an album of cover versions! Perfect day was ok, and Lou reed says the best version of his song official! and white lines featuring melle mel was pretty good and even made top twenty, but mots of the other songs here just dont work, there is one exception drive by a re making of the chaffuer which is pretty good, although simon tends to drone on , and her does do a good jim morrison on the crystal ship, dont do it again eh lads purleaseeee!!!
Advantages: 97.4% better than a lot of stuff out there at the minute Disadvantages: The CD doesn't make a very good ashtray
...as if they have stepped out of a yachting era DuranDuran video, but what would he know, he?s only a finance minister? Anyway, Dragonette?s first gig was supporting DuranDuran (we?ll have no jokes about Zimmer frames thankyou) when they toured the States (man!). In fairness, there?s a lot of good on this album, like the adultery encouraging ?Competition?, the ?tart-with-a-heart? frippery of first single, ?I Get Around? ( I say yes, when I oughta say no) and the low down dirtiness of ?Black Limousine?, but, as with everything in life, when one side of the wheel is going up, the other is coming down?
Lowlights
Although Dragonette are picking up a fine old following, it?s sometimes easy to get cheesed off with the perfectly polished production masquerading as lo-fi edginess, which is going to see pop-tarts and indie-kids alike...

---------------
Children of the '80s will already own it or would once have owned it and lost it in a house move. Everyone else should investigate this fine album, but I fear they won't. Almost flawless!
Thanks for reading....
