...big thing. It's great to be the first one in a group to own a legendary album and to say to them 'hey guys you should buy this'. Alter Bridge is definitely one I would recommend to absolutely anyone who likes rock music/guitar music/music in general. A friend got me into Alter Bridge when he lent me the CD and when I first heard it I was like OK its quite good and I wasn't overly-impressed but after a few listens I was loving every part of it. Another good thing about Alter bridge's new album is that it is at present there only album so if you buy it you will have all their current songs, which is great if you are lucky to see them live because you know exactly which songs they are going to play. ...of pace. 'Tonight the Streets are Ours' is uplifting, strings and beautiful backing singers blending with Hawley's laid-back vocal combining well - real echoes of Morrissey here! 'Lady Solitude' sees a return to the slower numbers, and it's beautiful, with a stripped back feel and lilting rhythmn. 'Dark Road' - think 'Dirty Old Town' by the Pogues sung by someone who can actually sing! Another toe tapper and less lyrically based than the other tracks. Next up is 'The Sea Calls', a 6 minute epic and a really well-crafted song; one of the most beautiful on the album. The title track of the album is another slow one, Hawley's use of landmarks and sites around his home town of Sheffield in his songs looming large again in this tale of 'Lady's Bridge' offering respite from his life's worries. ...Alter Bridge's first album, the phenomenal 'One Day Remains', will go down in history as one of my favourite debut albums. The extremely bold mix of beautiful, heart felt lyrics and fabulous, hard hitting drum beats with screeching guitar riffs really struck a chord with me (ha ha, pun intended!) and it seems that I will never tire of the four pieces fantastic first album as a group. In case you didn't know, Alter Bridge are a concoction of three members from American rock band Creed, including the fantastic guitarist Mark Tremonti, banging bassist Brian Marshall and the hardcore Scott Phillips, a guy who drums a whole new heart beat into each and every song.
