Before I begin, I know I dont have enough "doo's" in the title, Ciao told me to shorten it!!
When it comes to music, I love a bit of everything, and I never buy albums, I buy random songs from iTunes and listen to the first minute of every song, get bored and onto the next. The first Fratelli song I heard was Creeping Up The Back Stairs and I thought it was a great tune. Then I heard Chelsea Dagger. After forcing myself to learn the words in a very timely fashion I would drive with the song BLARING. Then I bought the album. Listened to the full thing, no skipping. I LOVE IT ALL.
Usually when a band come out of Glasgow into the charts they are so hyped up that the songs are over played and they fade as fast as they appeared - I'm referring to Franz Ferdinand - who I also think are wonderful - but, the Fratellis have something extra - an individual, entertainment factor. The lyrics to the songs are clever, humourous, and you actually listen to them in additon to the music.
The drummer (Mince is his name, I messaged him on the fansite to ask why Mince, but he is swamped so I got no reply, huff..) is a legend - the beat of every song is contagious and the drums are just as evident in the songs as the guitars. The guitar work is amazing - all the songs have a kind of 1970's TV program comical sound to them, with a tune and beat to follow.
It is definately one album that m akes my day, wakes me up, puts me in the mood to jump around crazy and go out and have a good time! The majority of pubs and clubs play the music and EVERYONE gets up to jump on the spot and clap, point int he air and shout the lyrics!
I went to the Kasabian concert purely to see the Fratellis play their support act - and they are brilliant live! Putting on a wonderful live musical and vocal performance, and they know how to work a crowd!
Songs I would reccommend are Henrietta [I love this the most], Chelsea Dagger [the pub favourite], Stacie Anne [for waking you up or if you just want to jump about like a nutter] and Everybody Knows You Cried Last Night. I would in generally advise people to buy the album - but get it off iTunes for £7.90. Dont bother just buying a few of the songs, you want the whole album! iTunes lets your preview 30 seconds of the songs first so you can graps from that whether or not you like it.
This isnt a very long review because with music it is purely down to tastes and interpretation - my consumer advice is go download iTunes for free if you dont already have it and preview the songs in the iTunes store and if you like the Indie sound then buy it!

There's nothing terribly complicated about the Fratellis' debut album, Costello Music, but ... more
that's by no means a criticism. Rather than inject their songs with complex chords, or steep their lyrics with their political and social agendas, this Glasgow t...
