I'm Canadian and a college student taking a veterinary sciences course (VeterinaryTechnician, to be exact). I'm 23, and love photography, reading and going to the theatre -- both the cinema and musical aspect of it.

I have rarely bought a cd that I can enjoy from beginning to end as I can with this. I was surprised, even. I expected to enjoy most the cd, but not like a couple of tracks. Man, was I wrong!
The Fratellis' "Costello Music" is a cut above every other band that has come out with a supposed "new" sound the past while. Everything is undoubtedly their own style and flare. Their sheer ability to mix a rock/ska style with lines like "wah wah wah" or "bada bap pada da da badada" and not lose any dignity or turn people away shows copius amounts of talent.
This is the only cd of its kind that I've bought, but I couldn't deny my love of Flathead and Chelsea Dagger when I heard them on the radio. Those two songs are amazing. They're fun to sing oudly and off-key with, dance to and play air drums along with while driving. I find the music sort of takes ahold of you when it starts playing. If you're not in the mood for the fast-paced songs, Whistle For The Choir is a slower song, but in no means boring or a ballad. It even incorporates whistling... God I love these guys. They're not afraid to bring anything to the table.
Their style seems to be enjoyed wide spread throughout other's tastes. My boyfriend, who enjoys mostly metal and classic rock, doesn't mind putting up with the cd in the car. He'll even bop around and play air drums with me.
One thing they do in a few songs that I can't help but want to join in is have all the members of the band sing at once. It makes the song very fun, inclusive and you almost feel like you're there with them, having a good time.
The cd was bought at HMV for $12.00 CAD (approx. £5.80 GBP). It should be available in any record store and a multitude of sites online.

There's nothing terribly complicated about the Fratellis' debut album, Costello Music, but ... more
that's by no means a criticism. Rather than inject their songs with complex chords, or steep their lyrics with their political and social agendas, this Glasgow t...
