Advantages: Highly Decorative, Central Location Disadvantages: Not Easily Accesible For Disabled People
the rest of the year the main reception area is open to the Public everyday between 9.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Fridays. The City's Registrar Office is now also located within this TownHall Building.
The Reception area is incredibly grand with an ornate interior of wonderfully decorative stonework. The Ceiling is very high and consists of whitewashed Plaster, whist there are Italian Marble Pillars and a mosaic tiled Floor. A red velvet Carpet leads up a staircase and there seems to be Statues everywhere.
The Registrar's Office gives the visitor a further excuse to explore the interior of the TownHall Building between the months of September through to July.
The area of the Building set aside for the Register's Office continues the grand theme that has been set by the Reception, the Reception being the first point of contact within ...
Advantages: Superb service, good facilties, excellent food, reasonable prices Disadvantages: Not in the city, I was there on business
, although to be fair it wasn't too far away as to be unwalkable.
LOCATION & GETTING THERE
This hotel is a fair way from Sydney Airport, and cost around AUD 65 in a taxi, the journey taking around 45 minutes in morning rush hour traffic.
As I have already mentioned, the hotel was in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde near Chatswood, and a journey by bus into the centre took around 40 minutes. Daily bus tickets are available from the driver which cost AUD15 (c£6) and covered travel on all the city buses, trains and ferries.
Consequently, if you like to be in the thick of things, then the Stamford Grand is not for you. However, if you are travelling on a budget and need to keep costs down, then believe me, you could do a lot worse.
There is ample on site free parking for drivers, there is bus stops to ...
Advantages: You get to hear the original Supergroup reformed Disadvantages: The album shows what good music some of us missed played live.
Eric Clapton is my favourite guitarist not only for his longevity but for the skill in his guitar playing. He with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker reform in 2005 for a series of Concerts initially at the Royal Albert Hall but then going world wide for a tour.
I saw Eric Clapton with Blind Faith at one of the early free concerts in Hyde Park in the late sixties, I think june 1969, as a teenager so was quite upset that I missed the Albert Hall Concerts especially as one fell on my birthday 5th May 2007.
However I first recorded the concert from TV and then was bought the album and DVD the Christmas following it's release. The concert is magical. There are three 60 year old rockers who hadn't played all together in a band for forty years. Playing the songs as the did all those years ago. They play, in my own personal opinion, better than ...
