Advantages: Brilliant lyrics and catchy tunes
Disadvantages: One or two songs aren't great

...Michael learns to Rock is a popular band whose members come from Denmark. The members are Jascha Richter, Soren Madsen, Mikkel Lentz and Kare Wanscher who play the keyboard, guitar and percussion, guitar and keyboard, and drums and percussion respectively. Their album 'Greatest Hits' is a great album featuring songs such as 'Paint My Love', 'Love Will Never Die' and 'Breaking My Heart'. Michael Learns to Rock is a great collector's CD, one you would like to listen to every now and then. In my opinion, all devote music fans should have this CD in their collections - it's not that often that such a great band comes from Denmark!... Read review

Review of First Grand Constitution And Bylaws [Remastered] - Secret Chiefs 3 by yhwman

Advantages: From the sublime
Disadvantages: To the ridiculous

.... * Zulkifar * Sounding like Indian folk music but with more aggressive drums, this could be used as the theme to a Bollywood murder mystery. As it happens, there are three versions of this song, one on each SC3 album. My personal favourite is Zukifar II, which can be found on Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws. Not taking anything away from this version though, it is good, if rather short. * The Qa’im Deliberates * It’s just noise, skip it – I am. * Drunk at the Gates * Again, mainly noise but with a few bursts from instruments this time. Skip again. Breath. * RESURRECTION DAY SOUNDTRACK, Hot Pursuit in Eagles’ Nest * This is an absolute gem of a song though, energetic and distorted, yet also distant. Danny Heifetz’s drums pound your head while you wait for the evil synths and throbbing bass to join the song. And so it continues... Read review

Review of Second Grand Constitution And Bylaws [Remastered] - Secret Chiefs 3 by yhwman

Advantages: Incredible music
Disadvantages: One unneeded white noise moment

...Arabic surf rock party time! Secret Chiefs 3 – I know, it’s a pretty bad name. There’s not even three of them. There’s seven, count ‘em. Danny Heifetz on drums and a few mildly strange forms of percussion, William Winant on a lot of extremely strange forms of percussion, Eyvind Kang on violin and erhu (Anyone know what one of those is?), Bar McKinnon on flute, Laura Allen on vocals (Only once mind), Paul Dal Porto on sitar and Trey Spruance on what seems to be most forms of instrument known to man, but mainly guitar, bass and keyboards. They even have another member who didn’t make it onto the album, bass player Trevor Dunn. Now, all followers of good music will recognise a good few of those names up there (Please! Someone out there must apart from me). But in case you don’t some of the bands... Read review
