(The) Maiden and the Nightingale - Songs of Spain

Advantages: he was the only who made true his dream of become a great star outside Spain
Disadvantages: his music is... easy latin dancing music we´re waiting for an evolution in his career

...to the Eurovision to participate in the chores. Rosa and her big voice (and big body) was a kind of new cinderella .That night everyone was in their homes watching tv and hoping ( leaving their common sense in the wardrobe) Rosa de España with her "song" "Europe is living a celebration" won and recovered our eurovision pride (hehehe ;-P). But it doesn´t happen. And If you are fan of eurovision like I am, you know what countries can actually win because the rates are actually politic rates. All the countries vote their neighboors except Portugal and France that never votes Spain if they can ( hahah the votes are my favourite part of the contest. In Spain we had a good comentarist that could anticipate every vote year after year only with a map and knowing where were each country. The songs changed every year. Votes did´nt ;-p). Advantages: fantastic melodies and singalong choruses
Disadvantages: lyrics are a bit drab sometimes

...Pixieish guitars and weezeresque melodies make this, the rentals second album, a joy to behold the receptors of any human ears, and maybe animals' too. It is plainly obvious by the content of this album that Matt Sharp (the writer/producer) spent and loved a long hiatus in Spain or thereabouts. The songs, although not lyrically profound, refer to lazy days and hot nights in the sun drenched European country. "Barcelona" is a direct and honest love of a city that was seemingly partied dry by the band on their apparent nightly binges of jumping around and having a good time. Although the music is not exactly groundbreaking per se, the tunes sound refreshingly different and are tinged with singalong choruses ("Hello, hello") and luscious melodies ("My head is in the sun"). Disadvantages: Junior Senior? That aint a clubbing tune!!

...CD. The cover for the album is really good- again, suitable for the theme of the album, which is summer!! I certainly listened to this album when I went to Spain last year and I am certainly going to take this album for the holiday to Ibiza in September. One of the best summer albums I have heard for a long time. I recommend anyone to get this for a summer full of club music.... Read review
