(The) Mozart Album

Advantages: rare quality
Disadvantages:

...This is an album created by fine craftsmen. Albums of this quality are rare and welcome, not least because they help to put the tired old arguments about musical and lyrical quality. No one can argue with the quality of either here. It may not be Shakespeare or Mozart but it is raw, wired and speaks clearly to its time. I especially like Find The River, which seems to have crept into the classic category. I hear it in the strangest places and I don't remember it ever being a single. I hope they keep on going, because I can't see the quality slipping.... Read review

...What an absolutely amazing album. Its totally in a class of it's own this is the best album by Bush but not as good as the new Papa Roach album, Infest, (see my review called "Rock On Coby") Well I say well done lads the members of Bush (David Parsons, Robin Goodridge, Gavin Rossdale and Nigel Pulsford) Have created one peice of musical masterpeice worth listening too. Bush totally have kicked Westlife's and A1's asses the Bush gang deserve to be knighted and have totally arned medals .I think that Bush Rock The world of Hard Rock and the world of music in general. Advantages: World Class Trumpet playing from a Brit!
Disadvantages: Seven tracks of Spanish songs maybe a little to many for some

...Alison Balsom is making quite a name for herself on the international music scene. Her delightful style and majestic sound make this album a top buy. Throughout the CD influences of Hakan Hardenberger are heard (her former teacher). Looking at the track listing on the album you might think a risk has been taken transcribing works which are grounded into the history of other instruments and turning them into trumpet music. As soon as the CD starts spinning in the machine you know that the risk has pulled off. Music of Mozart and Bach sound like they were written for trumpet. Some say that Balsom has only made it to where she is because of her good looks. This is complete and utter nonsense as we here in track 4 'Variations on Casta Diva'. This composition challenges every aspect of trumpet playing yet Balsom takes it in her breeze.... Read review
