Andrew Lloyd Webber's sumptuous musical comes to the screen in this film adaptation.A ... more
voice calls from the shadows of the opera house to innocent chorus girl Christine Daae (Emmy Rossum). Only ballet mistress Madame Giry (Miranda Richardson), knows that the voice is that of the Phantom (Gerard Butler), a disfigured musical genius who haunts the catacombs of the theatre.
Advantages: A brilliant guide to opera for iniatiates and established fans alike Disadvantages: Book may have too many pages for it's size (see it, you'll know what I mean) but dont let that put you off
The Cds are packed with music you will know well , as well as more obscure discoveries. Beethove, Mozart , Puccini, Wagner and Verdi are all represented. My favourite pieces on here include Rossini's "Largo et Factotum" from "The Barber of Seville", Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" from "Die Walküre" and Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" from Turandot. There are many more famouse piecse of music on the CDs making this a truly excellent purchase.
If you don't know much about opera, or not sure whether you like it, then this is an excellent purchase. I've already purchased four copies from Amazon for myself , friends and family, and even if you are ar great opera fan, the book is a wonderfully informed guide to the librettos and so could save you a fortune in Concert programs. ...

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE
Sydney Opera house is located on the eastern headland of Circular Quay just a few minutes from the train station. It is made up of 1,056,000 Swedish tiles on the roof, which are off white and are self-cleaning. Construction began in 1959 after a Danish architect Jorn Utzon won an international design competition for the $7 million building. In 1966 Utzon quit after political interference leaving Australian architects to design the interior costing $102million. He has never seen the building completed. Utzon who is now in his eighties has announced to refurbish the interior and he has high hopes that it will be full of colour rather than a black hole. His son comes to Australia to oversee any developments. It was finally was completed against all odds and after several disagreements in 1973. It now is one ...

Advantages: Speed dial makes navigating oh so easy! Disadvantages: Initial load up is very slow.
they appear pretty much immediately. This allows me to browse between up to nine of my favourite websites with the greatest of ease.
Another useful and unique feature to Opera is the ability to use its "wand". This is the equivalent to other browsers form and password filling abilities but Opera allows you to log in to your favourite sites with a single keypress and without the need for ticking boxes as it does all the hard work for you. I find this particularly useful on sites such as eBay and yahoo were they constantly seem to be asking for username and password verification. Of course, this makes Opera very much a browser for the single user otherwise anyone using the computer can log in to your sites. However, that is what I downloaded it for and for me it is ideal!
As per the norm nowadays Opera also makes use of tabs to display ...
