Soul Diva Sings Jazz & Blues

Advantages: The wonderful tracks My Man, Don't Explain etc
Disadvantages: The dialogue interupts musical flow

Lady Sings The Blues premiered to an eager, anticipating audience in October 1972. The public flocked in droves to the cinemas to see this much-hyped film, whilst critics watched intensley and eagerly sharpened their pencils. Soul singer and Motown legend, Diana Ross controversially took the role of the tortured Jazz legend, Billie Holiday and deservedly won wide critical acclaim for her harrowing and riviting performance in the film which subsequently gained her an oscar nomination (though Diana sadly lost out to Liza Minnelli for Cabaret - people claimed this was down to Berry Gordy's over-kill campaign to get her to win where Berry sent various extravagent gifts to members of the comittee which was merely perceived as a ploy to get her to win). Critics were instantly silenced on hearing the movies quintessential and divine ...

Review of Lady Sings The Blues - Diana Ross

The Ultimate party starter!

Advantages: Great game, lots of fun for everyone.
Disadvantages: None

Get your friends round, choose a song, become a Singstar! This was the first game that I brought in the Singstar collection and came complete with two microphones, the necessary piece of equipment to use the microphones with your PS2 and was just under £35.00 from my local Game store. The tracks on this disc are absolutely great for when you are having a party as almost all of your friends are going to know at least one track! There are great games to play such as battle, duet and pass the mic which allows you to have two teams of up to four players. There are some great songs for duets on this album too which are the songs that I tend to stick to when playing with my fiance. (He's great, I'm definitely not!). The battle game is when you play head to head against a friend or loved one and you both sing exactly the same number ...

Review of SingStar Party (PS2)

The party is over

Advantages: Huge amount of comedy
Disadvantages: lack of story

The Storyline ----------------- For than Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds), college is not about getting an education, it's a way of life, a life of partying and having fun. After 7 years of 'failing' to get an education, his dad decides to get tough and stop paying for his education. Is the party over? Not for Van, who, with the help of his friends, he sets about earning money to continue his fun loving existence. Through a series of ingenious schemes and fund raising parties, Van's way of life becomes of huge interest to a college reporter, Gwen (Tara Reid). Through a series of unfortunate events, Van realises that he may have to do something he never imagined possible?.. he may have to GRADUATE. This film is in the same set as American Pie and Road Trip, with a mixture of gross out comedy, romance and coming of age. The story is ...
