Advantages: Several good shows; The Evening Concert; Classical music!!! Disadvantages: A flood of adverts; Simon Bates
. Instead, there is a fair amount of talk, adverts (of course), news and traffic, and plenty of opportunities for the listener to contact Mark.
An excellent presenter and a good show ? certainly one to have on on the way home from work!
>> CLASSIC NEWSNIGHT <<
Fairly tedious, slow-paced news from ?the world of classical music?. Presented by John Brunning, who is actually quite a good presenter but lets himself down by doing this show from half six until seven. Luckily he makes up for it by hanging around a bit longer for smooth classics.
To be honest, if you want to listen to the news, this is not the program to listen to. If you want to hear classical music, then this is also not the program to listen to. I find myself grabbing a CD to listen to when it reaches half six and I have ClassicFM on.

Advantages: Great songs - wonderful, popular tunes Disadvantages: A few songs aren't as good as the others
and colourful with a nice wee picture (cartoon type image) of two people driving in a car. Inside the cover it gives all the usual information that is found inside the cover of a CD and it also gives a little information about each song and sometimes tells you what you should do when driving and listening - it's a bit silly but its there. The CD is really good and is really good value as well - it only cost me £4.97 and in my opinion it was well worth it. This is my first experience with a ClassicFM CD and as a result of listening to this one I can't wait to listen to another. ...
Advantages: Excellent, varied classical music, great shows, many good presenters Disadvantages: Repetitive and irritating adverts, Simon Bates, Natalie Wheen
of the regular ClassicFM favourites and Natalie?s choice of new releases, new recordings etc. It?s just a shame her presenting style is so irritating?.! Katie Derham (the ITV newsreader) has a two hour show early afternoon on Saturdays, playing some many of the most popular pieces of classical music, and Aled Jones does the Sunday breakfast programme. On Sunday afternoon?s David Mellor?s show ?If you liked that, you?ll like this?, starts with a popular work and introduces the listener to similar but less well known works which listeners are likely also to enjoy. Following this, the Lesley Garrett Show has a range of the ?nation?s favourite soprano?s favourites, including lots of the greatest operatic arias. Stephen Fry?s ?Incomplete and Utter History of Classical Music? is currently being repeated on Saturday evenings. This was an extremely ...
