Reviews which might be of interest for "The Swedish Tenors"

Soft and dreamy Swedish and creamy.

Advantages: Sophisticated flavour ice dessert.
Disadvantages: Still not that common in supermarkets and stores.

The sun blazed down from the clear blue sky. I took out a pound coin from my jacket pocket and handed it over for a quantity of sunflower seeds. I squinted up the baked hot road and prepared to make my final journey back into town and then home. I would have to cover three miles or so, on a bicycle with a slow puncture carrying a heavy rucksack. I thanked the lady in the pet shop and told her I was going to collect my ice cream, then I would be going like hell home. I had left it until last to minimise the melting effect, so I took a deep breath and weaved into the traffic to claim my purchase. Not available in this town in supermarkets, I had ordered it to be kept in the freezer of the local health shop. I refer to "Authentic Swedish Glace." It costs £2.14 where I am and comes in a distinctive black plastic octagonal tub. You ...

HISTORY OF TENORS ON ONE CD

Advantages: All the hero's in one
Disadvantages: Mixed sound recordings Sound louder and quieter in places

At first glance you would imagine the CD to be the normal mainstream nonsense with Russell Watson singing Amor ti Vieta, but when looking at the back you do see that this is a quality CD. So lights down low CD player on high and a nice Glass of wine and you are ready for an audio trip through operatic tenor modern history. Track List: (THERE ARE 27 TRACKS IF YOU WANT A SUMMARY OF EACH ONE THEN READ ON OTHERWISE HEAD FOR BOTTOM OF REVIEW) Track 1: O Paradis sung by Enrico Caruso What a start to the Cd. Nothing but quality technique and voice on show here, one of the best renditions you'll ever hear Track 2: Morgenlich leuchtend sung by Peter Anders Not my favourite song and a big jump in quality from the first track but still an adept singer, the first sign that there is going to be a wide variation of voice and style ...

Creamy Swedish Dream

Advantages: Better than ice-cream
Disadvantages: Hmmm...let me think now..

Swedish Glace is a fantastic non-dairy dessert that looks like ice-cream, but actually tastes better than the ‘real’ thing. Yes, all you Haagen Dazs people out there, you may snigger at me now, but once you have tasted it yourself, your faces will be buried in shame! Some years back, a Swedish girl (a pure coincidence) called Eva introduced me to the world of delights without dairy products. On this particular occasion, she made crepes filled with few dollops of Swedish Glace, a product which I had never tasted before. Believe me, I had to be convinced it wasn’t ‘real’ ice-cream, because it was so… CREAMY! And oh so dreamy… After this delightful experience, for some reason, I forgot the name of the brand until some time later I rediscovered it from a local health food shop where I was ...
