everyone can enjoy and relate to.
Some of the film could be considered offensive, especially the scenes involving Mary?s brother Warren who has severe learning difficulties, there?s a lot of offensive terms thrown in the air about him and for the easily offended this definitely isn?t a film for you.
I?d highly recommend seeing There?sSomethingAboutMary, it?s no doubt one of the classic 90?s comedies and will always be looked at with fondness by me and so many other fans of this. Don?t let all the other gross out comedies put you off seeing this because it?s the original and best.

The soundtrack has some great hits like Build me up Buttercup, and Close to you. To be honest the only two songs I remember hearing in the film, was build me up buttercup, only because I love that song, and there's somethingaboutMary, which I did find quite a boring song, but it stuck out because it was the same title as the film. I really did not rate much to the soundtrack, and thought that better songs could have been put in, but maybe that's because most of them was well before my time, or just unknown songs. I am sure some people may have liked it, but it really was not for me. Although I did not like the soundtrack, it did not ruin the film in anyway.

Ok well I did really enjoy watching this film, it was a very comical love story. I would not recommend kids watching it or anyone who does ...
Advantages: Funny, clever, inventive and and all-round good film Disadvantages: Humour may be offensive to some
mind as soon as the word comedy is mentioned. A comedic landmark as it were.
Even the soundtrack to the film is memorable, especially the main theme 'There's somethingaboutMary'. In fact, every now and then during the film, seemingly out of nowhere appears a band who sing a couple of lines of a song and then disappear again. Strange, but effective.
For anyone who has seen this film and enjoyed it, I would recommend 'A lifeless ordinary', also with Diaz as well as Ewan McGregor. However, if you have not yet seen this and are looking for an uplifting, light-hearted comedy, watch it. Pure brilliance. ...

The soundtrack for THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY bucks the '90s trend among romantic comedy soundtracks by not focusing on classic songs from the '60s or '80s. Instead, what you get is a set of songs from late '90s up-and-comers, all anchored by three whimsical little ditties from Jonathan Richman, who also composed the score. With tunes ranging from The Dandy Warhols' electronics-heavy "Every Day Should Be A Holiday" to The Push Stars' indie-rock "Everything Shines" and the Propellerheads' curio "History Repeating," which features Shirley Bassey (of Goldfinger fame) on vocals, there is something here to satisfy every taste. And nostalgia junkies need have no fear: Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out With Him" and The Foundations' "Build Me Up Buttercup" will satiate the retro jones.
