Well, i wouldn't say it's everyones taste, but i like this album very much. If your into indie/alternative music, or bands such as bloc party/radiohead/the maccabees, i would buy/download. I wouldn't expect this album to blow you away, but it is good to listen to every now and then, my personal favourites on the album are, "never ment to hurt you" which is a catchy song with very random lyrics, but they work, and "morden" which is also another very catchy song, and is a bit more upbeat than "never ment to hurt you" and is my personal favourite out the bunch. In all, i would say the album is good, with a few songs il be playing in few years time, but if you don't have a lot of money i wouldnt buy, unless you really know/think you like it. The lyrics are very random, but i think it works well.
Tracks
1. Nazanin 2. The photo's on my wall 3. All in my head 4. Never ment to hurt you 5. Blue eyes 6. Sophia 7. We are not the same 8. Small town girl 9. In the city 10. Things to make and do 11. Everybody's talking 12. Ice age 13. Wait
If your looking for a taster of the songs i'd recommend downloading, "morden" "never ment to hurt you" and "blue eyes"
However if you are looking for something a bit different to all the other indie bands around today, then i would not recommend, as it is quite similiar to other bands around.
Advantages: catchy songs Disadvantages: Songs quite short
Not exactly groundbreaking stuff but an enjoyable album full of catchy little numbers from this south London band. You might not be playing it in years to come but its definitely worth a listen for the time being. With songs documenting youth and growing up in suburbia its quite refreshing compared to similar bands such as Bloc Party or Maximo Park. Ok, so the lyrics might not be up to poetry standard but they add to the easy and accessible nature ... ...be biased because I like this band. However, I can say that i prefered the demo and single release versions of some of the songs because they seem to have been speeded up for this album, much to my annoyance.
I'm not going to go through every track on the album because i would just suggest listening to it. However, if you were looking to download then the stand out tracks for me have to be 'Small Town Girl', 'Never Meant to Hurt You' and definitely ...
