Not exactly groundbreaking stuff but an enjoyable album full of catchy little numbers from this south London band. You might not be playing it in years to come but its definitely worth a listen for the time being. With songs documenting youth and growing up in suburbia its quite refreshing compared to similar bands such as Bloc Party or Maximo Park. Ok, so the lyrics might not be up to poetry standard but they add to the easy and accessible nature of the music.
I have to try and not be biased because I like this band. However, I can say that i prefered the demo and single release versions of some of the songs because they seem to have been speeded up for this album, much to my annoyance.
I'm not going to go through every track on the album because i would just suggest listening to it. However, if you were looking to download then the stand out tracks for me have to be 'Small Town Girl', 'Never Meant to Hurt You' and definitely the latest single 'Morden'.
the album has 14 short and sweet tracks - 1. Nazanin 2. Photos On My Wall 3. Morden 4. All In My Head 5. Never Meant To Hurt You 6. Blue Eyes 7. Sophia 8. We Are Not The Same 9. Small Town Girl 10. In The City 11. Things To Make And Do 12. Everybody's Talking 13. Ice Age 14. Wait
I'd definitely recommend it to people who are into their indie music and particularly bands like Futureheads and Maximo Park.
