Looking out or 'THINKING IT OVER' by Liberty X? Well the cover has a picture of the band on the front with liberty x and thinking it over written underneath. I purchased my copy from WH Smith and was in the sale for a bargin price of £4.99...woolworths currently have it on offer also for £6.99. Inside of the booklet is mainly a picture of each member on each page and details regarding the tracks and of course thank yous. Onto the tracks:
THINKING IT OVER
The first single to be released from the pop stars loosers. Starts off nice and slow opening with guitar. This song is actually quite catchy upbeat song which great lyrics which their voices suit just perfectly.
JUST A LITTLE This single I think really pushed Liberty X into the limelight, a very catchy song which made a big impact on the charts. Obviously, this song is about wanting a bit more...............
DOIN' IT Starts off with the guys singing on their own with the girls joining
in for the chorus a steady song throughout but certainly not one of the strongest.
WANTING ME TONIGHT A good catchy tune about knowing that someone that wants them. It has alot of repetation but it's not so much that it ends up getting boring.
GOT TO HAVE YOUR LOVE Everyone knows this song right? A cover song. Personally I hate cover versions - why can't people write their own songs? Anyway, for a cover version I have to admit they do a pretty good job. All vocals are good through this track and certainly does stick in your mind if you've listened to the album or heard the song on the radio.
NO CLOUDS A steady song which you could imagine listening to in the summer, how things are good, no problems and not having any worries at all. I do like this song.
EVERYDAY Upbeat song which I think is very strong and shows liberty x at their best. As song which is about everyday it makes someone realise how much they need this special person more.
SATURDAY As the title suggests this is about Saturday and enjoying the weekend, going out partying, dancing and having a general good time. I wouldn't say that this was a strong song but it certainly has a bit more of a R'n'B feel about it rather than pop.
HOLDING ON FOR YOU When I first heard this song I didn't realise that this was Liberty x. I think that this song is very, very good. This song is about holding on to that person that you love, how you have to be strong and resist temptation while you are apart.
I GOT WHAT YOU WANT Upbeat, again a more r'n'b feel rather than cheesy pop. About being told what you wanted and that they have got what you need and want. Faster than a few of the other songs on this album I really like this song, one of my faves on this album.
FEEL THE RUSH This track is about feeling the 'rush' together and again has a more r'n'b flavour about it.
RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW This song tells of how they want to be with their partners as they are the right one for them. Strong vocals throughout this track, especially from the guys on this one. I think they really make this song.
DREAM ABOUT IT The girls start this funky track about. Catchy beat which explains to someone not to dream about them going off with them for romance as they are having a great time what they are doing what they are doing now and they should never assume that they may do this. I again really like this song.
NEVER GIVE UP A very short track at just 1min 27sec called never give up. I think this song was mainly written and sung in a tounge in cheek way saying you should never give up no matter what you get told. After loosing in the popstars final I would say that they know what they are talking about and should take their advise!!
Okay so finally thoughts on the album made by the 'flopstars' as they were once branded?
Personally I think it is pretty damn good. Much more of an R'N'B flavour about this album compared to the likes of both Hear'say album (should I actually admit they are in my cd rack?!!) these guys also write a lot of their own material which is something I admire alot in a pop group or band. Liberty X Have certainly come out on top despite loosing to those members who made up hear'say. I think they will have long successful careers in the music industry, especially if their second album is along the same lines as this one. A couple of weak tracks but you generally find this with most albums so they certainly deserve four stars!
