The Crows keep getting better - that could be the end of the opinion!!. The album provides a much awaited follow up to Recovering the Satellites and I was to be honest fairly sceptical about the quality of the output.
I needent have been worried, after hearing Mrs Potters Lullaby on a magazine cover disc I was hooked. Each track tackles issues and music in a completely different way, as does the album as a whole, providing a different angle on the talents of Adam Durritz from that of the other two studio albums.
I think you would find it hard to get into and enjoy this album if you were not a Counting Crows fan, as with all of their albums enjoyment is only fully realised from prolonged and repeated listening.
However this would not stop me from recommending this album to everybody - go for it and buy it, listen to the feeling in the lyrics and the music and then lets campaign to get more Counting Crows music on the radio!!!

Advantages: Beautiful lyrics, beautiful melodies. Gets right under your skin and into your heart. Disadvantages: Can become sullen and monotone for those who don't like slowpaced songs.
