Having heard a number of good things about this bands live performance from friends, I decided to purchase the album a couple of weeks after it's release. I can safely say I'm glad that I did. Dartz! are not doing anything new, but the presentation and arrangement of their new wave indie is close to perfection. The off-beat rhythms are enough to get even my mums head nodding and smiling along, the lyrics are inoffensive and almost as fun as the music and the chorus hooks are memorable enough to have you humming them for weeks.
The band seem to have taken a lot of inspiration from all of the upbeat 'fun' moments in Bloc Party's first album and created a whole album of exciting floor-fillers.
Highlight tracks include 'Once! Twice, Again!' , St Petersburg' and most recent single 'Fantastic Apparatus'.
It's only July but this is seriously one of the contenders for my favourite album of the year. The band haven't yet got the fanbase they deserve but if there's any justice in the world, they are headed for big things.
