Advantages: A true great amongst men Disadvantages: none
face of total gratitude and sincerity at the inevitable applause following a performance, this is what made him stand out. His famous tours as the 3 tenors together with Domingo and Carreras, equally as famous in classical circles but not to the wider audience, and whilst Carreras may, arguably have had the better voice, Pavarotti was always the more dominant character due to his stage presence and his ability to draw people into his music, not, of course, that the others were lacking in these attributes.
For a great many people Pavarotti was an unknown opera singer prior to the Italian World Cup in 1990, where his performance of Nessun Dorma was the theme for the event. Although I was aware of him prior to that, I think this for me was the first time I really paid attention. Part of the character of Pavarotti, is his sense of humour ...
Advantages: Great operatic album Disadvantages: none
This is in my opinion one of LucianoPavarotti's greatest albums ever! The great tenor at his best singing classics such as O Sole Mio, Nessun Dorma, La Danza, Vesti la guibba, Rigoletto la Donna é mobile and many more. This album is truely astonishing from argueably the greatest tenor that ever lived. The passion in the songs that Pavarotti sings in this album are amazing, it will sweep you off your feet and throw you into complete perfection. Unfortunately as you may have heard LucianoPavarotti died on September 6th 2007 which makes this album a tribute to the great tenor and his life long work as an operatic legend. LucianoPavarotti was one of the most renowned people wordwide and this album presents some of his best work and you should buy this amazing album in honour of the greatest operatic legend that ever lived! ...
Advantages: All the hero's in one Disadvantages: Mixed sound recordings Sound louder and quieter in places
To hear his voice you would not think he would be a very diverse tenor but listening to this you would have to think twice.
Track 19: Paloma querida sung by Francisco Araiza
Araiza holds a business degree and he certainly gets down to it (business that is) when it comes to this, lesser known, but fantastic aria. Well done the Mexican!!!
Track 20: Maria sung by JoséCarreras
This is the only poor selection of track on the CD although it is sung well it does stick out like a sore thumb.
Track 21: E lucevan le stelle sung by PlácidoDomingoDomingo returns to sing this spiritual aria from Tosca for us. He does a grand job.
Track 22: In fernem Land sung by Kurt Moll and Siegfried Jerusalem
Beautifully sung and again is another example of a well-picked duet showing us that this compilation hasn't just been thrown ...
