Album Notes: While THRILLER retains the folk- and country-influenced, lushly arranged, laconic alt-rock sound of Lambchop's previous work, an important stylistic element (that would blossom in the group's future work) takes root here. The introduction of R&B/soul sounds distinguishes THRILLER as one of the most important releases in Lambchop's impressive canon. The peppy, staccato horn section that punctuates "Your Fucking Sunny Day" and the languid Philly Soul rhythms and harmonies of "My Face Your Ass" stand in stark contrast to the dreamily orchestrated folk-rock the band was previously known for. F.M. Kornog (elsewhere known as East River Pipe) contributes several strong compositions here, but mainman Kurt Wagner's metaphysical musings on the aforementioned "My Face Your Ass" and his ominous, poetic "The Old Fat Robin" steal the show.
Album Reviews: Melody Maker (9/27/97, p.50) - "...[Lambchop] draw a line under the teeth-and-rhinestones horror of 'new country' and rebuild Nashville's eminent skyline tall and proud."
Advantages: Great songs, talent, highly skilled voice, excellent sound quality Disadvantages: You might not like Michael Jackson
...There is no other album like Michael Jackson's Thriller even after 25 years it still remains a class above the rest in my opinion. Michael Jackson's Thriller sold in excess of 27 million copies in the USA and Michael Jackson received a ground breaking eight Grammys and 12 nominations in 1984.
The album is highly polished and has an excellent sound quality. The album produces a style that is unique to Michael Jackson which has a great dance atmosphere and has a good blend of percussion and keyboards. Tracks like "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" are part of this influential album.
I love the way Michael Jackson's Thriller captures you into a world of make believe as the music slows down and picks up throughout the album. No two songs are the same. The beat in each song is fantastic giving a good blend of variation throughout the album...

Advantages: Groundbreaking - No wonder it's the biggest selling album of all time Disadvantages: Not Enough Songs, but leaves you with a great taste for things to come
...A little bit of background to this classic Michael Jackson album:
In 1982, Jackson released his second Epic album, "Thriller", which became the best-selling album in music history with more than 60 million copies sold worldwide. The album spawned seven hit singles, including "Billie Jean", which was the first music video by an black artist to receive regular airplay on MTV. "Thriller" spent 37 weeks at number one and remained on the Billboard album chart for 122 weeks. It was eventually certified 26x Platinum in the United States and is still the biggest selling album of all time...and guess what, I am not surprised!
Here is a rundown of each track and why it appeals to me;
"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin" - Fast paced, beat orientated, simple and funky. It is it's simple yet outlandish and original rythm along with Michael...

Advantages: Lots of cracking tracks from the king of pop Disadvantages: none
...This is a classic Micheal Jackson album,in my opinion it was and is his best album to date.
The album included iconic and memorable tracks such as Billie Jean and Wanna be startin somethin.
For me there is not one song I dont like. Each song sounds different and makes me feel different in its own way.
The track listing is as follows:
1. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - 6:04 - A more upbeat dance sounding track from the king of pop, that was pretty original for its time, love how this song just manages to put me in a good mood everytime I hear it
2. Baby Be Mine - 4:20 A more soulful/pop sounding track, thats a bit laid back yet as it progresses gets a bit more poppy and upbeat.
3. The Girl Is Mine - 3:42 An easy going easy on the ears sounding track, with those sickly lovey dovey vocals and lyrics :-)
4. Thriller - 5...
