Coming directly off the hype of his breakthrough album “Off The Wall”, the sixth solo Michael Jackson album was the classic “Thriller” album in 1982. The biggest-selling album of all-time was, of course the point where the child star had reached superstardom as he came with a record filled with straight bangers (and many which would be cited alter on as classics of the era). It will be known as the greatest record to come from the most iconic name in Pop ever.

1. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’”

He gets the album with a banger of a tune to hype everyone up with a funky little jam which really gets people going as he is seen to throw together a killer joint as he sings in a rather ominous and intimidating song (not to be brought back in his until he returned with “Bad”). It gets him riding some authentic Funk and showing progression from the Disco of his that record.

**Five Stars**

2. “Baby Be Mine”

He gets into a funky tune which appears to take the best elements of some of the biggest hits form the album in order to come out with a killer song which you really can’t do without (if you like such hits as “Billie Jean”, “Beat It” and “Thriller”. It was one of few non-singles on the album and one which really props up the release to affirm to the fact that this was such a significant record.

**Five Stars**

3. “The Girl Is Mine”

Michael is seen to get into a killer tune here as you find that he is taken into a one of the most significant of the slower tracks on the record as he is seen to make full use of the incredibly strong vocals which he possessed. It is a powerful one from him and is really bound to affect those who were well into his ballad material.

**Five Stars**

4. “Thriller”

Although many of the tunes here are killers, the string of three you get here have to be named amongst his top five of all time. It begins with this, the titular track and also the final single, which is much more known for its iconic music video Rather than the song) but still gets him working incredibly well in a very contemporary style as the themed music of the decade was in full effect, and he played up to this with a dark song.

**Five Stars**

5. “Beat It”

Keeping things flowing through here this one get Michael getting down to a massive jam as he brings through some of what was found on the first track from the album as he get down to a rough tune (contrasting from the light vocals which have defined the sound of his music) and with it powering out with a massive Pop jam.

**Five Stars**

6. “Billie Jean”

Showing just how strong his song writing is here, this song is one of the greatest songs which Michael left the music world with as he gets on some empowering beats and managing to hit through with probably the biggest hit of his career. It is one you can’t possibly have missed out on in your lifetime and is the artist working at his best.

**Five Stars**

7. “Human Nature”

Known for being sampled by the likes of Nas, SWV and BLACKstreet, this is a heavy joint from Michael and one which I feel had to really grow on me other many years as I could gradually see the significance of such as one of the killer ballads which he released and found that he made a massive impact in the way that he had on his earlier album with “She’s Out Of My Life”.

**Five Stars**

8. “P.Y.T.”

Although this one did see a certain level of success, I felt that this was one of the most underrated singles of his career as he got into a tune which I felt had to be compared to the first track on this record with him getting in a fun song where he is able to appeal to mass audiences with the feel-good nature of the jam.

**Five Stars**

9. “The Lady In My Life”

The album is seen to end with Michael puling out another of the second of the non-singles form the album here and with it he was still able to make a massive impact on the game (so it was as if it too was released in this format) it gets him moving towards the ballad wok again and in this case leaving the album on a massive high with a groovy joint which has him lifting some emotive grooves with the angelic voice to come up with a banger of a last effort.

**Five Stars**

Although a relatively short album from the singer, the significance of it cannot be underestimated. It was ht best album of his career and found that he didn’t, at any stage lose the quality in his material for even a slight slip as he comes with an excellent mix of the warming up-tempo Pop tunes (which use his Rhymth & Blues influences extensively) in addition to the much softer ballad work which made it such a hit that it was.
