(featuring Y.N.V.) Pour Out A Little Liquor Stay True How Long Will They Mourn Me? - (featuring Nate Dogg) Under Pressure Street Fame Cradle To The Grave ...
Advantages: Consistent Disadvantages: No stand-out single
..."ThugLife: Volume 1" is the 1994 release by the group of the same name, they formed in this year as 2Pac brought together several West Coast rappers Big Syke, Macadoshis, Mopreme and The Rated R for his record label 'Out Da Gutta Records'. On this release 'Pac performs on each track and gets a selection of the group, another to rap with him.
1. "Bury Me A G"
You receive some heavy beats from the production group Thug Music, and they really get things going as 'Pac gets straight inot the tunes without any sort of introduction to this record. He just gets to what he plans for the track and talks on how he has time to do things which have him fulfil the position of a "thug" in his community. All of ThugLife make an appearance during this one.
**Three Stars**
2. "Don't Get It Twisted"
This is the only tune not to feaure...

Advantages: Tupac along with other great rappers Disadvantages: None
...ThugLife is the REAL 2pac. He is much more pure before he broke through and earned millions of dollars. With other rappers, in actually HIS group ThugLife, this album is the young Pac.
Songs like 'Bury Me a G' and especially 'Stay True' are pearls. Much better then songs on 'Better Dayz'. Don't get me wrong ('Dont get it twisted'), the songs on Better Dayz are also good, but the songs on ThugLife are just better. His song 'How long will they mourn me' was also on the Greatest Hits album.
The complexity of the songs is great. If you REALLY listen to the lyrics, you understand what he is talking about, and not that it's just a man yelling the N and MF word. He is emotional more pressured than on CD's as All Eyez on Me, because here he had no money, and this was his only income.
ThugLife is a great album. Better as Better...

Advantages: Four, count em, Four - listenable songs Disadvantages: A complete shell of their former selves
...necessarily materialistic; it's more like "1st of Tha Month" and "Paper, Paper", but once again Bone decides not to leave their comfort zone and remind us of past successes. But that's not even what irks me. The beat on this song is one of the most annoying pieces of shit I've ever heard. It can only be described as a rooster being run over by a moped and fighting for its life. Bone should be ashamed to allow themselves on such trash.
T.W.O.: Thug World Order was the end of the line for Bone, specifically Bizzy, who made his final collaborative appearance on a Bone album (until the rumored The World's Enemy LP coming soon). It would be four long years before Bone would come back and unfortunately they have yet to make a splash anywhere close to what they did in the 90s. Save your shelf space here....
