Advantages: Four, count em, Four - listenable songs Disadvantages: A complete shell of their former selves
BoneBoneBoneBone...
For an act that constantly reminded us that they would never fall off; T.W.O.: Thug World Order nixed each and every mention of that throughout the entire discography of BoneThugs & Harmony. Rumors of an impending split, the guy who discovered them dying of AIDS, and an incarcerated Flesh n Bone; the foursome managed to still bring hits like E. 1999 Eternal, Creepin On A Come Up, and everything else they dropped. Then they had to come out with this monstrocity.
There is a grand total of FOUR highlights on T.W.O.: Thug World Order. Thirteen songs, FOUR are worth listening to. The lead single, "Get Up & Get It" is vintage positive Bone backed by underrated pop-group 3LW. It reminds me of the very best that they are capable of. When the second single "Home" came out, I remember REALLY having high hopes and being ...
Advantages: Consistent quality Disadvantages: A couple of fillers
"Already Platinum" is the debut solo album from the Houston rap artist, Slim Thug. This came out in 2005, following his signing to Pharrell Williams' record company, Star Trak, and so despite the fact that the styles contrast so heavily, you get this Gangsta Rap perfromer do what he does on some Netunes beats. To most, the artist is most well-known for his collaboration with Gwen Stefani on "Luxurious" and with Beyonce's "Check On It".
1. "The Intro" (Intro)
2. "Like A Boss"
I originally heard this one on the Madden 2006 soundtrack, and it reinforced my liking for his music. On it, you have The Neptunes attempt their best at a Gangsta Rap beat as they comt up with heavy, bassy synth, which gives Slim the best foundations for him to then build upon with raps.
**Four Stars**
3. "3 Kings"
This was the track, following ...
Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Nothing specific
early stage.
**Five Stars**
3. "I Run"
This was the lead single from the album, and so it is the one which most know this album for, and I would have to say that it is a good choice for such a tune to represent what this record has to offer from him as he goes on beats from Jim Jonsin and does one which not only suits his thug persona, but also gives him the chance to get a little mainstream attention with the YelaWolf hook.
**Five Stars**
4. "Show Me Love"
You find that Slim Thug is joined by Mannie Fresh on this one and Elvis Freshly chooses to go for the funky grooves on this rather than the bassy Bounce Music which he was mostly famous for in the late nineties and early '00s. From here Slim chooses to adapt the classic opening lines of LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out" to his rhymes as he is still getting back into ...
