happened. It started to blow cold air. Praise be.
At least we weren't going to braise to death. Actually, by the time we were saying g'night John Boy, the room was way cool enough, but there was no way I was tampering with the AC again. Upshot was, we both woke around 3am shivering...sigh.

As you can imagine, we were up at the crack of dawn and eager...make that impatient to be on our way, but we had brekkie anyway. We ordered coffee but we couldn't be served until we went to the reception and obtained a ticket. That done, we ordered a full breakfast. This consisted of an omelette...not a very big one. It was quite tasty though. No coffee refill, no juice, no nothing. As we left, the waiter starting shouting on us ( I assume he wanted paid) In reply, I told him to make mad passionate love to himself and carried on.

Released in 2003, Blacksteet had already been around a number of years but only had released 3 albums, all with mixed reviews. The main stay of this group is Teddy Riley is also known for writing songs for various artists including Michael Jackson and New Kids On the Block! Throughout the years, we've seen the line up change here and there with original member Dave Hollister going solo and other guys coming and going.
The release of this album was in my eyes perfectly timed as a short while after this Teddy Riley went nuts, ok not actually mad, but his writing and musical style changed considerably to fit in with the Timbalands and Pharrells of thie world. His experimenting in production took a turn for the worst and this cd really does capture Blackstreet when they were at their best, r&b,coming out the end of the new jack swing era ...
