Advantages: Unputdownable ,Riveting story line Disadvantages: None
Tillwemeetagain is another excellent book written by Lesley Pearce. As an avid reader of all Lesley Pearce's book I wasnt expecting to be disapointed with this one -and I wasn't. The book has an eyecatching front cover in pale blue with two little girls running through a field of daisys -Dont judge a book by its cover as they say! The story line is anything but a field full of daisys!!
The book is exactly 500 pages long with quite small print but I read it suprisingly quicky in just 2 days in between my working hours.
I do not usually bother reading the Acknowledgements at the begining of a book but this one caught my eye as it mentioned all parents of children who have suffered Meningitis. As the mother of a little boy who contracted Meningitis I was tempted to close the book there and then and not to continue as I thought it ...
Advantages: An addictive storyline, hard to put down (if thats a good thing) Disadvantages: I didn't want it to end the way it did
care for her sick mother for years.
The story shows how two people met as children and enjoyed each others company, shared secrets and couldn't bear to be apart, got seperated and grew into adults, thier lives taking completely different paths, one a successful (but lonely) solicitor, the other a broken mother who loses her child and has to deal with mental health problems.
The story doesn't really have a happy ending as when someone kills as many people as this lady did the only thing that can lead to is prison, but you're left feeling sorry for her and wishing their was another alternative. The solicitor ends up meeting a man and being happy.
After this novel I did go back to my library and reserve a copy of Remember Me, another of Lesley Pearses books, this book was as good if not better than Til WeMeetAgain, I don't flit from ...
question who Ruby really is. It is difficult to explain much about the plot without giving too much away, but suffice it to say that the story is touching and full of intrigue.
The film is very much a two person act and the two leads play the parts wonderfully. There is a tranquillity to the film that is not often found in modern cinema and above all its a film that makes you think about the characters. Although the main thrust of the plot is fairly easily followed there are a number of conclusions that can be drawn from the events and which one you chose is dependant on your own beliefs and views of the world, life and mortality. Many themes are touched upon as the film moves through its paces, not only loss and how we deal with it, but the subject of death and the afterlife, as well as recurring patterns being inherited from father to son ...
