...back with their new album Timeless recorded on their own record label (so I suppose technically they are indie now!) and being a more self assured 30 year old I was not embarrassed to rush out and buy the album.
The first thing you notice about the album is the cover. It is by by Klaus Voormann who also designed the seminal cover for Revolver by the Beatles. I think this was a good move and i do like the cover as it is beautifully drawn and feels ... ...wall.
On first hearing Timeless I felt a bit cheated and underwhelmed due to my high expectations. It was not an immediate album compared to High On The Happy Side or Picture This, which had some instantly likable song such as Somewhere Somehow, Don't want to Forgive Me Now or Lip Service. I felt it was very polished, had too many string arrangements for the sake of it and too many slow songs. The only song that stood out for me was the final track ...

...The Wets are back this album is great. With it being the greatest hits it has all the timeless classics by wetwetwet and some new ones. Hearing all the old ones brought back so many memories and I am sure new memories with the new tracks. I have got all there albums but most of them are on LP so to have all the hits on CD was great and I can play it in the car to much to the dislike from my husband.
All the tracks sound so good the old ones as well as the new one tracks such as Temptation, Wishing I was Lucky, Angel Eyes and the new ones All I want. If you are lucky enough you can get the limited edition greatest hits CD it has a bonus disc which has great tracks like Yesterday, Blue for you Love is all around (live).
A definite most for all wet fans to have in your record collection even if you are not a fan it is still...

Advantages: unforgetable classics, guaranteed to make you all soppy Disadvantages: they aren't around any more!
...This album has to be the best for 'relaxing with the other half'. You know what I mean. ;-)
What to say about this album... well although WetWetWet are not together any longer, this CD just seems to be a testiment to all the timeless classics that were produced by on the best bands of the 80's and early 90's. Not one song on this CD is a duff one - and I think I can honestly say that. Try saying that about most albums these days!
WetWetWet were Graeme Clark, Neil Mitchell, Tommy Cunningham and of course Marti Pellow. From their first gig ing Glasgows Multi Media Club, and were seen by head of Rough Trade Records, Jeff Travis. Under their own record label, Precious Organisation, they were signed.
What followed were various singles being released, mostly off their own back though, I believe. In their time they released 5 other...

Album Notes: 'Timeless' is the eighth studio album from housewives' favourite and one of the most successful Scottish pop acts of all time, Wet Wet Wet. Fans eagerly awaited the follow up to their 1997 album '10' which saw the band temporarily disband soon after its release. Packed with catchy pop, upbeat rnb and seductive soul this album sees Wet Wet Wet return to their best. Includes the single 'Too Many People'.
