Advantages: Historically very accurate Disadvantages: Too centred around relationships
Released in 2005, The NewWorld stars Colin Farrel, Christopher Plummer, Christian Bale and Q'Orianka Kilcher. It tells the true story of how the first English settlement in the Americas came to be; why it started, where it was, and how it developed. In 1607, the English arrive in what is now West Viriginia to build the settlement Jamestown, named after the King of that era. The team encounter various conflicts with the American Natives, and Colin Farrel as John Smith is eventually captured by them. The story continues to show the many problems the settlers faced, and their story up to 1616, whilst at the same time showing the love affair going on between John Smith and Q'Orianka Kilcher as Pocohontas.
