Advantages: The first two songs Disadvantages: Predictable, dull, uninspired and crass
What happened here? It sounds like the cuddly Cranberries suddenly bought leather jackets and turned into heavy metal moshers.
Not Hollywood kicks off To The FaithfulDeparted with the kind of ear bursting, guitar string breaking style as Zombie in the last album. Following on the pace doubles to a heavy metal on speed Salvation. These are the best two tracks on the cd but then its downhill from here on.
With a catch your breath period of When Your Gone we get a middle paced song that starts and finishes but nothing really much goes on. Unfortunately, that sort of sums up this whole album, there is a lot of noise and speed guitar and wailing from O’Riordan, only giving us occasional glimpses of what might have been. They could have reinvented themselves as genuine rockers and a lot of people would have followed – ...

When I was ordering some Christmas presents from the Body Shop I noticed that, if I spent £25 I would get a free pot of body butter, and since I was almost there I chose a tin of Merry Cranberry Lip Balm at a cost of £4.85 for a tin containing 15ml of the lip balm.
As most of you will know I am a great fan of lip balms of all sorts. We live on the Great Orme in Llandudno so we have a sea breeze ? sometimes a sea gale ? most of the time. Add that to the fact that I spend a lot of time outside chopping wood for our log burner and you will see why I need to use lip balm all the time. I can't stand my lips feeling dry - it really irritates me.
The lip balm that I chose on this occasion was the Merry Cranberry Lip Balm which is part of a range of Cranberry products in store (and on line) ready for the Christmas market.

In 1981 the Cure released their third Album ?Faith? following the release of their two previous Albums ?Three Imaginary Boys? and ?Seventeen Seconds? in 1979 and 1980 respectively.
In 2005 this Album, originally released on vinyl was re-issued in a digitally re-mastered deluxe edition version. This is a two CD pack, which as well as containing all of the tracks on the original vinyl Album on Disc one, it also features a previously unreleased song on this first Disc called ?Carnage Visors? plus a non-Album single released around the same time called ?Charlotte Sometimes.? On Disc two.
Disc two features alternative versions of some of these same tracks in either a live or demo form, as well as some previously unreleased songs that are all instrumentals. Some of these were later reworked into songs that resurfaced elsewhere.

Full title: To The Faithful Departed (The Complete Sessions 1996-97). The Cranberries: Dolores O'Riordan (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, keyboards, whistle); Noel Hogan (acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, background vocals); Mike Hogan (bass); Fergal Lawler (drums, percussion). Additional personnel includes: Luciano Pavarotti (vocals); Richie Buckley (tenor saxophone); Michael Buckley (baritone saxophone); Bruce Fairbairn (trumpet). Producers: Bruce Fairbairn, The Cranberries. Recorded at Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin, Ireland in November & December 1995. All tracks have been digitally remastered. The songs on the Cranberries' third album touch on painful topics, dealing mainly with loss and the difficulties of growing toward true adulthood. Tragic inspirations include the deaths of singer-lyricist Dolores O'Riordan's grandfather ("Joe") and John Lennon ("I Shot John Lennon"); some import pressings also include "Cordell," an elegy for Denny Cordell, who signed the Cranberries to Island Records in 1991. Much of this material is bittersweet, but the songs are saved from dreary melancholy by the characteristic quirky Cranberries sound of O'Riordan's angelic voice, scattered with her trademark yelps and other vocal tics, juxtaposed against energetic, hard-edged guitar work by O'Riordan and Noel Hogan. In addition to the newly mature lyrics, there is also a new, rougher-edged sound to this album's production, which puts the music within easy reach and lends TO THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED an earthy appeal.
