...After several nostalgic months of viewing various early Rainbow tunes on YouTube, I decided to take it a step further recently by purchasing the classic 'Rising' on Amazon for a splendid £5.00. And am I glad I did that! Look out for more reviews of early Rainbow in the up coming months, for I am sure that I will be visiting Amazon for more! 'Rising' is the second album from Blackmore's Rainbow since he quit Deep Purple. It is looked upon as one of the greatest classic rock albums of all time and features many a classic song. After a mesmerising keyboard into, a stabbing Blackmore riff sets the scene for the opening track, 'Tarot Woman' (5:58). This is a young Ronnie James Dio at his most powerful. .... 'Drove all night from New york city in your best friends car' This song is more upbeat and more of a pop song rather than a rock song. It's about 'getting away' and that you should just do it as you don't live forever and have to take the chance while you have got it. ON A DAY LIKE TODAY This is another song I really like. The title of the Album this is a song that sticks in my head once I have listened to it. Again, a slow quiet start, basically saying that we can have our dreams and that it is not always bad and that there is something good out there for all of us and when it happens you never want it to end. FEARLESS 'It's 3am - I'm lying here next to you what ya gonna do?' This song is very upbeat about a women he is with who is already in a relationship. ...Blue are a UK boyband consisting of Simon, Duncan (best known for being an utter manwhore), Antony and Lee. They are more R'n'B than pop in my opinion, but they are known as a pop band, and this is their first album. They have since released One Love. 1) All Rise This is their first single. It's more pop than R'n'B but that's no bad thing! It is catchy and likeable, and was a success as their first release. There's a bit of rapping there from Simon. He's not that good at it but it adds a nice touch to the song! 9/10 2) Too Close Their second single. I'm quite inclined to hate this as it was the first song me and my ex-boyfriend ever danced to, but it is good!
