Together Alone in Anouk's first Album, released on the 24th October 1997. It is a new style of songs for a new style of singer. Powerful, independent and inspirational, the album leaves you humming the songs all day and wanting you to hear more. Anouk Stotijn-Teeuwe better known as "Anouk" is a famous Dutch singer, who has risen to fame throughout the European Charts, but in my mind is still not famous enough for her talents.

She was born on 8th April 1975. Her mother is a famous blues singer and inspired Anouk's born talents to sing. Anouk has gone from writing songs and singing at weddings and parties in a band named "Shotgun Wedding".

After meeting Bart van Veen in September 1997 - her new so - writer - then launched a single (Her second - the first being "Mood Indigo") named "Nobody's wife" - the first song in this album. It stayed in the charts for a number of weeks and eventually led to the start of her famous singing career and her first album - "Together Alone".

Anouk has a voice that is hard to compare to, in the fact that she can sing in so many different styles and genres, and do it well! You may notice that her music doesn't repeat itself much at all, unlike some bands and artists, from song to song - album to album. This not only allows her to show off her wide range of musical skills but means that most music listeners will enjoy at least some of her songs. She is a unique artist, one that should definately be listened to. And easily enjoyed.

Her music can be described as alternative rock to even pop, though within those categories her music still changes. Like that of Madona and Kylie she is adaptive in her music skills. And I think she'll be around for a long time to come at only 31.
