Advantages: Great fun, hits the spot. Disadvantages: None
When it come to choosing books for my children, my brother seems to know exactly what to buy for them, and this Christmas was no exception - could it be some psychic powers he may possess which I have no knowledge of? Or is it simply the fact that his kids are older than mine - he's been there, seen it, bought the DVD - and he simply 'knows'? these things..?
Whatever the answer, I am glad he does? As I found it a treat to read them what he buys.
This year the eight year old daughter got a Jacqueline Wilson and the four year old boy go this one.
I think the best children's books are the ones that the adult will like too. 'Who's in the Loo' is a 32 page picture book which is just one big long poem really - as is the case with many such books. It is a fun book that appeals to a child's sense of humour and to that ...
Advantages: It's great fun and has solide direction, writing and performances. Disadvantages: The peripheral characters are unremarkable.
Billionaire industrialist Tony Stark has made his fortune creating evermore innovative weapons. But when he is captured by insurgents while showcasing his latest invention, he is ordered to build a devastating weapon for his captors. Actor-turned-director Jon Favreau takes a step up from his kids films ("Elf" and "Zathura") for this thoroughly enjoyable superhero romp that never takes itself too seriously. His visuals are glossy and the effects, of which there are many, are suitably impressive. He understands cinema as spectacle and makes the most of his big budget ...

the big line of animals are following Tom, the spiders are bouncing around on threads.
After following him for a while, the animals come up to Tom and sniff him, and because Tom is so frightened, he falls to the ground but doesn't notice the ants. When he has sat on the ants, Tom screams and pulls off his trousers, at which point we have a funny picture of all the animals running away in terror at such a horrible sight. We see even the ants running away, and then we have the reason why?.Tom's bottom! Children find this picture hilarious because of the obvious toilethumour!
The pictures are all big and bold and perfectly tell the story as we go along. The animals are given quite human expressions, and Tom really does look scared when he is imagining the horrors of what the animals will do to him.
