Advantages: Enjoyable Kids Sci-Fi Disadvantages: A bit dated
The Tomorrow People - Series 2
I remembered the earlier shows, probably from 1973 when it first aired through to 1979 when it initially ended. Watching it again on DVD was very, very enjoyable
and to be honest quite refreshing. It was at the time an imaginative program and held a 70's quaintness.
Remembered nothing of the second incarnation of the show, 1992 - 1995 and again nothing of the third reinvented show from 2001 - 2007.
You follow some rare talented humans as they 'Break out' and change from normal humans to the next stage in human evolution. They have abilities such as, telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation.
They have adventures inventing new technologies and fighting evil villains on this planet and from other galaxies.
There are a few surprises along the way.
1973 - 1979 Series ...
Advantages: A great romance, thriller, comedy, tragedy............. Disadvantages: None!!!
Not being the sort of person who enjoys reading about wars or conflicts of any sort I was in two minds about the book I will now review, the only thing that swung me was the fact there was the promise of love affairs thrown in!
The book I will now review is "For all our tomorrows" by Freda Lightfoot.
This book displays on the front cover the landing of thousands upon thousands of American marines onto an unsuspecting town called Fowey in Cornwall.
The friendly invasion happens barely a few months before victory is called in the second world war.
The town of Fowey was deemed as the perfect camp for all military personnel due to the fact it is the most thought of place for an invasion by the Germans and their associates.
The story is told from the perspective of two sisters, the first is Bette Tredinnick who is the younger ...
Advantages: Great sound, sturdy, easy to use Disadvantages: Only runs off mains power
Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet.
The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. The music I play on the sound-dock sounds almost incomparably better than CDs ...

Album Notes
Personnel: Dwight Yoakam (vocals, acoustic guitar); Buck Owens (vocals); Al Bonhomme (acoustic guitar); Pete Anderson (electric guitar, percussion); Gary Morse (lap & pedal steel guitars); Chris Hillman (mandolin); Scott Joss, Don Reed (fiddle); Flaco Jimenez (accordion); Skip Edwards (keyboards); Taras Prodaniuk (bass); Jim Christie (drums); Jonathan Clark, Jim Lauderdale (background vocals). Principally recorded ar The Dog Bone Studios, Burbank, California. In-between directing a film, maintaining an acting career, launching his own website, and touring in support of the solo CD set DWIGHTYOAKAMACOUSTIC.NET, it's downright remarkable that Dwight Yoakam found the time to record TOMMOROW'S SOUNDS TODAY before 2000 ended. Despite all this activity, Yoakam's production partner/guitarist Pete Anderson came up with another outing that bucks Music Row trends while honoring country music's past without becoming nostalgic. Throughout TOMORROW'S SOUNDS, Dwight Yoakam's rich tenor gets put to great use on songs like the Buddy Holly-inspired "Dreams of Clay" and the gritty honky-tonk of "A Place to Cry." Backed by a crack band featuring the distinctive contributions of fiddler Scott Joss and steel guitarist Gary Morse, Yoakam also impresses with tear-in-your beer laments like the seasonally themed "Time Spent Missing You" (featuring former Byrd Chris Hillman on mandolin) and the Hank Williams-flavored "The Heartaches Are Free." Highlights include a brilliant cover of Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me" in which Yoakam applies a twangy sheen to this warhorse without killing the song's spirit, and a pair of bonus Buck Owens duets.
