Top Gear Anthems 2008 (Seriously Hot Driving Music) - Various Artists

Advantages: Reasonablely priced and some GREAT songs on it
Disadvantages: Is mostly older music so most young people might not listen to it

...The Top Gear seriously cool driving music is in my opinion is the best CD i have bought in a very long time. The quality of the music is excellent and there is plenty of variety of different music tastes. For example the Killers and the Fratellis to Phil Collins and Paul McCartney. Overall a very good CD which has music to suit all tastes. Some of the artists that feature on this CD include Prince,T.REX, David Bowie,Billy idol, The fray, The feeling,Kings of leon, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Oasis, Manic street preachers, Kaiser chiefs, Deep purple, Peter Bjorn and John feat. Victoria Bergsman. The Cd offers great value for money and will have music that you would like. The graphics on the CD case isn't bad ether.... Read review

...This in my opinion is the best compilation album to come from the top gear merchandise. Great drive time music with the like of the Body rockers, Razor light, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol and The Killers as well as Rob D, David Holmes, The Orb, Nightmares On Wax and Lemon Jelly. Its great to have a modern driving album which doesn't have the usual old 'Born to be wild', 'bad to the bone' etc. Its honestly a great mix and the variety of songs mean it will definitely make the time fly by when your driving. Also a great present for a father for uncle or something (without sounding sexist at all), as it allows them to appreciate modern music as well as sounding like that old turbo-fuelled guitar music which is legendary of 'bat out of hell' and other driving anthems. Advantages: Every song you've heard a billion times before in one, handy compilation.
Disadvantages: For every decent track there's three you'll never want to hear again.

...this is your first compilation CD and you've got a gap in your music collection where the seventies rock should be - DEFINITELY buy it. If you already have a dozen or more compilation CDs and you're trusting the TOP GEAR brand to deliver - don't buy it. Get TOP GEAR: THE ULTIMATE DRIVING EXPERIENCE instead. The time you spend in the shop looking at it you could spend mixing your own playlist from your pre-existing CD/MP3 collection and have distinctly more appealing results. TOP GEAR: THE ANTHEMS is really an ode to The Missing. What you won't find on here are genuine anthems from the show - for example, Amorphous Androgynous' THE WORLD IS FULL OF PLANKTON which played over the TOP GEAR presenters' seminal supercar visit to the Millau Bridge in Southern France doesn't feature.
