Advantages: Loads of Phil Collins songs Disadvantages: Loads of Phil Collins songs messed up
An album of remixed Phil Collins tracks performed by r&b and hiphopartists. Risky, seeing as the man himself as churned out classic after classic and as you can imagine it wasnt well received by, well anyone.
I did however purchase because i like Phil Collins and i like hiphop & r&b so i took a chance. I should have spent my money on buying that indoor ten pin bowling set instead. Saying that there is a couple of decent tunes on here but as a whole, not the greatest ive spent my money on
Tracks
Another Day In Paradise - Ray J & Brandy. The single to come off this album was received quite well, not a bad video and the brother sister duet that everyone wanted to hear. An up to date version but not better than the original. You may find me saying that more often than not
Sussudio - Ol Dirty Bastard. Shocking. No resemblence ...
Advantages: Great mix of artists and well known tunes Disadvantages: Maybe needed more female artists, popular r'n'b stars
2 Disc Set, with 40 tracks so you can't really go wrong here. It's kind of a mix of the old and the new love songs, but still some timeless tracks from artists like Mary Mary, Aliyah, 2Pac, Anita baker, Toni Braxton and others. The kinds of songs everyone knows. Some lovers tunes and some more faster paced. With Lemar, Wayne Wonder, Akon, Ashanti, Mya, India Arie, as well known young stars of now. But it would have been nice to have seen some younger and newer R'n'B stars that are playing in the clubs at the moment and also maybe a bigger selection of female vocalists like Khelis, Brandy, Ne-Yo, Omarion and others. Still the tracks are a good mix with tunes like My Boo, Usher and Alicia Keys, Satisfaction, Eve, Cry me a River, Justin Timberlake, Sweet Love, Anita Baker, On and On Eryka Badu and lots more. ...
Advantages: A few bangers Disadvantages: A few tracks are a little weaker than the rest
-A-Gadda-Da-Vida? and ?Apache?, it is a hardcore tune and is a perfect showing of what he wants Hiphop to be again.
**Five Stars**
6. ?Who Killed It?? (Lude)
7. ?Black Republican?
In what was a highly hyped recording, you have Jay-Z and Nas unite after years of battling over the crown as the ?King of New York?. Personally, I wouldn?t have said that this particular track is all tha special, but to those who really got caught up in the issue when it was at its height in around 2001, this one finds them flowing to their best ability, just showing that such an event had to have them come with he most complex lyrics they could possibly come up with.
**Three Stars**
8. ?Not Going Out?
Kelis, his wife comes to sing on this one with him and it seems to bring out the darker side of him as he decides that it is appropriate to turn things into a Gangsta Rap track ...
