Here Amerie shows off her sexy seductive side, and shows the world how much she's grown from her last album. 'Not the only one'
This is another catchy, funky track. Here she talks about not being the only one creeping around ie her boyfriend cheating on her, and he aint the only one playing games. This is song that is just a bit of fun, can't really be taken seriously; but its a great track. her voice is very seductive and its charm can't help but pull in listeners. Very good production both in vocal arrangment and music.
Amerie's first album 'All i have" seems like a distant memory now, although it was a great album; it never got the attention it needed. From the soul inspired album of 'all i have' to a now mature and grown up style. Amerie's new album 'Touch' provides more variety of RnB songs..drifting away from that sweet soul girl she once was, to a now grown sexy women..who has recently shown she can make fast up-tempo tracks work for her image and we all now she can really dance!
TRACK BY TRACK REVIEW:
'1 Thing'
A track produced by Rich Harrison, who also worked on her 1st album. He became wel-known for his work on Beyonce's smash hit single 'Crazy In love' after that his talents have been made clearer; blossoming on this track. The track has a great up-tempo beat, sweet but sexy silky vocals from amerie making a combination that made this a big hit in the charts, and the club scene. This track can also be found on the HItch soundtrack.
'All i need'
Now this is more of a slower track taken from the album, but i have to say its definately one of my fav tracks. The track uses soul samples, using trumpet sounds to echo behind the funky beat. Amerie really performes well on this track, her vocal ability really shines and although her voice is nothing like mariah carey, its still very distinct and powerful. Great track.
'Touch'
Produced by none other than lil jon (aka the crunk master!) who is responsable for making hit beats for usher's yeah, marios boom and of course ciara's goodies; Now lil jon can add another hit to his production list. Touch is a catchy seductive track using a hypnotic crunk beat and a element of indian style music. Here Amerie shows off her sexy seductive side, and shows the world how much she's grown from her last album. The great thing about ameire is that she can be sexy without being labeled as a bimbo showing off most of her body, amerie's style in very sexy but classy..reminds me alot of aaliyahs influence (who she herself is a massive fan of). Overall great club track.

'LIke it used to be'
This track uses a funky beat and and catchy chorus, making this yet another hot track. although its not the best track on the album, it still a great album filler (you wouldnt skip it). basically talkin about how she wants to go back to how her relationship used to be. not the most standout track, but still great funky track.
'Talkin about'
Now this track is gonna be a huge hit which is produced by Rich Harrison, so you know what type of track it will be. This sounds uses similar styles to '1 thing'. the Beat is up-tempo, and the chorus is very catchy; making it another club banger.
'rolling down my face'
This track puts the blues back in rnb, its a great soulful yet still funky track. using saxaphone as one of the main instruments which is rare to hear it on modern RnB tracks but amerie really brings back the blues sound in this track.
'Can We Go back'
This is the only collabo on the album and its with Carl Thomas. Alot of people probably havent heard of him, but after this track you might just want to hear more. He has a great vocal ability, and him and amerie do well in this duet. Both uses harmonies well, and really do well singing together. The song is basically about how they both want to sort out their relationship and go back to the way it was. good track
'Just like me'
This is the 1st of 2 ballads on this album, very catchy chorus; which in my opinon is what makes the track so good. This is the opportunitie for her to really show off her vocal chords!...and she definately passes the test. Its a great love song, typical RnB ballad, but amerie makes the song come alive.

OVERAL:
This is a great album, with a variety of songs; from uptempo to slow soulful tracks to good old balads. I would recommed to anyone into RnB or who really likes 1 thing and touch.
Advantages: Funky, Soulful, Great Voice, Happy Disadvantages: You gotta love RnB!!!
This new album has only recently been released - I am a person who had never heard of her until her latest single "1 thing" and thought I would purchase the album, since then i have fallen in love with it! Its one of those albums you tend to play over and over again until you know exactly whats coming where! The songs on the album vary from track to track from "1 thing! which is upbeat and funky to "Rolling Down my face" which is a smooth listening, ... ...voice is very different, loud and strong, she could be compared to the likes of Jennifer Lopez etc, simliar sounding voices and styles. She collaborates with EVE and CArl Thomas on this album also, which add a little more Voomph to the album!
If you like Mary J Blige, J-Lo, 112, Boys II Men, Bobby Valentino and Usher... You will not put this album down either! Thankyou! ...

Advantages: Good, Feel good tunes Disadvantages: some songs seem to sound the same
I first came across Amerie after hearing a song round a bout 4 years ago now called "Why Don't We Fall In Love?" i thought pretty face but her voice was yet to mature until she would make it a big solo star. But 4 years on "1 Thing" was realeased i thought yeah! this is going to be big, with her beauty and unique sounding voice she will make this song a hit. Then came her newly realeased song "Touch" (hense the albums title) This song was produced ...

obvious that "Sam" in the title is "Uncle Sam" a.k.a. the government), and snipes them clean. There really isn't much i could say here except the fact that Cube is a powerhouse lyrically here, dropping menacing blows towards the US and "the powers that be", blaming them for thousands of black problems and the plague of racism in America. This song is definitely disturbing and touches on some VERY controversial topics. Cube DOES indeed instill fear into what he calls "White AmeriKKKa" with lines like: "Now in ninety-one, he wanna tax me, I remember, the son of a b*tch used to axe me, and hang me by a rope til my neck snapped, Now the sneaky motherf*cker wanna ban rap, and put me under dirt or concrete, But God, can see through a white sheet, Cause you the devil in drag, You can burn your cross well I'll burn your flag".
Cube calms down a tad ...

CAN'T LET GO

The beat is back here and again this is a slightly funkier song but no so much as Talkin' To Me. All the songs are very romantic and the music reflects that with sweet melodies and almost floaty vocals, without sounding sickly sweet.
It's about finding the one and not letting them go because you feel like wouldn't be able to go on if you ever let it slip away.
"I never knew each touch,
Between us would feel like the first time"
NEED YOU TONIGHT

This starts off with a beat and Amerie speaking in a kind of sexy whispery voice over the top of it. This song is definately the most hip hop feeling beat based track on the album. It doesn't really have any music other than the beat but Amerie's vocal give ...
'Touch' is the second album from revamped R&B singer Amerie. Ditching the sugary soul of her previous work, 'Touch' sees Amerie deliver a mix of uptempo dancefloor club tracks with soulful ballads. Guest appearances come from the like of Carl Thomas, Eve, and the king of Crunk Lil' Jon. The single '1 Thing' is also included.
