Advantages: I Give The Orderes Here Disadvantages: I Do Not Have Glowing Genitals
...There are bands that throw a bomb into the musical firmament, and leave shockwaves that can be seen for years after inspiring generations to take up guitars and upset their parents. The Ramones were one of those bands, The Happy Mondays were one of those bands, The Beetles were one of those bands, U2 want to be one of those bands, Any band with Phil Collins in it will never be one of those bands, Electric Six are definitely not one of those bands even though they don’t have Phil Collins in the band…… Electric Six are one of those bands that remind us that Rock and Roll is a hell of a lot of fun, and since I like Disco, then a fission of Rock and Roll and disco done this well is awesome. To put it another way for me Disco is Fun and Rock and Roll is LIFE.
Anyway this album blasts into life on Dance Commander a superb synth and grungy...

Advantages: Inventive mix of styles, great use of multiple vocalists. Disadvantages: Overlong, borderline masturbatory instrumental passages.

'The Decision Tree (We're Alive)' is where the events and obstacles of the plot start to take precedence, beginning with the thrum of synthesisers that musicians as far back as Vangelis decided was the most accurate sound to represent the vacuum of space. A jam section comes in towards the end before a final reprise of the verse and chorus: this will become the template for most...

Advantages: Tracks like Who and Muscles Disadvantages: Too many mediocre tracks
...-time genius Michael Jackson who through the lyrics was seemingly trying to convey a womans sexual fantasies (or perharps his own?????). Admitedly Ross' vocal performance on Muscles is a little mushy and indistingushable. After all this was a lady that had given us magical classics like Ain't No Mountain High Enough, The Boss, Upside Down and I'm Coming Out. Still the startling musical arrangements give it the ignition it needs and Jacksons' distinctive vocals are gelled neatly and quite effectivley into the production making it over-all a dynamic recording and certainly a credible change in style for Ross.
Muscles enjoyed phenomenal cross-Atlantic success where the track jumped to No.15 in the U.K whilst rushing into the U.S Top 10. If only the rest of the album had been as bold and as adventurous as Muscles, Silk Electric would have been...
