Advantages: Groundbreaking young swing singer with an amazing voice Disadvantages: You wont be able to take it out of the cd player!
If you are looking for a listen to anytime cd then this is for you. Perfect for all moods and occasions New Vintage sees PeterGrant putting his swing on songs old and new. There is a deep richness to his voice which belies his young years and he sings every song with empathy and understanding.
This album truly has something for everyone with classic covers such as Joanna, Spooky, On Days Like These and The Girl From Ipanema.
Tony Hatch, who originaly penned Joanna for Scott Walker said of Grant: "Peter's version of Joanna is simply outstanding." I would have to agree. This is a great rack to open with as it shows the range and richness of his voice.
Another great standard is On Days Like These which featured in the film, The Italian Job. It is the kind of song which draws to mind the days of the good life, 1950's New York, red ...
Advantages: Easy watching, some good acting and great vocal performances Disadvantages: Acting from some of the cast is a bit over-the-top
This is one of those films that nobody else seems to have heard of and - up until a few years ago - neither had I. Indeed, I have my passion for 1980s pop music to thank for my knowledge that this film even exists. For reasons I don't even remember, I came across a website listing the lyrics to Tears For Fears' mid-eighties hit Everybody Wants To Rule The World and whichever page I viewed mentioned a variety of films, TV programmes and albums that the song featured in. One of these was Peter's Friends . . . so I admit it, I first watched this film because one of my favourite songs was part of the soundtrack! (I can sometimes be a bit more shallow than other people believe . . . actually there are quite a few 1970s/1980s songs in here, which I think suits the mood of the film.)
In a way, I find it surprising that Peter's Friends seems to ...
Advantages: In my opinion they look good Disadvantages: Difficult for those with arthritis or poor hand control.
I was discussing taps with my daughter a month or two ago as she was having a new bathroom fitted. A few years ago now we had new taps fitted and I investigated all types of tap trying to get the perfect tap .We looked at the various kinds of taps, their ease of use their looks their price. I remember talking about traditional chrome taps with her.
Chrome taps are a good choice as they go with most bathroom and sink colour choices they are the standard silver colour.
Traditional taps are the ones with a cross top handle that you twist to turn the water on. You can buy mixer traditional style taps but I prefer individual hot and cold taps They will have an H or a C printed in the centre of the cross handle.
There are many tap designs nowadays so I do not think these traditional cross top ones are really that popular ...

Album Notes
'Traditional' is the second album from Peter Grant, a young British talent whose vocal style has been compared with the likes of crooners Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett while his music has the energy and jazz feel of that of Jamie Cullum. Following 2006's 'New Vintage', this release sees Grant taking control of his voice and finding his own distinctive style. The single and title track 'Traditional' is included.
