Advantages: Great songs in following Across Five Aprils style Disadvantages: Not a full album
...‘Living in the moment’ (2004) is the third release from AcrossFiveAprils after their 2003 release of ‘A Tragedy In Progress’ and the 2002 ‘Cut Me And I’ll Bleed Rock N Roll’.
This is a five track EP which shows off a great AcrossFiveAprils emo sound with some hardcore parts but it does not involve as much hardcore sounds in the vocals and in the music such as the riffs and drumming as much as the previous 'A tragedy in Progress’ and the later 2006 album 'Collapse'.
The first song on the album is 'Saving Seats' which kicks in with some guitar sound effects and then with a drum kick it starts in to a good guitar riff with backing drums which is added to with some more repetitive guitar playing and then with the singing vocals playing in it adds another depth to the music which is very much in the heavy emo scene...

Advantages: Amazing debut, takes many styles and mixes it up Disadvantages: People who bought the 2nd and now look for the older stuff may be suprised
...Genre - Melodic Rock / Metal
Tracks - 11
Length - 49:52
The Fake Sound of Progress was released in 2001 and never really got lostprophets the recognition that they deserved. The old album is very different and has not got the "radio style" tracks that Start Something has (such as Last Summer and Last Train Home), the album is much heavier and got a more raw feel.
The design of the album is actually very artistic. It has a collage of all the band members with various drawings inside. The cd itself...

Advantages: great sounds, beauty in simplicity Disadvantages: there are 'stronger' albums by BFF
...One of the less listened to albums by Ben Folds, Unauthorised Biography of Reinhold Messner still packs a punch.
The album is full of the classic Ben Folds Five sound and the originality of lyrics that define their work.
Crashing symbols, building bass lines, and simple yet compelling piano riffs are found throughout. However, there is also a more subtle and gentle air to these pieces as well.
'Army' typifies the former, whilst 'Narcolepsy' and 'Regrets' manage to combine elements of each.
This album comes across as more simplistic than other Ben Folds Five works. Melodies are less dramatic, and the score construction comes across as having less depth. However, there is still a beauty to be found in this simplicity. 'Hospital Song' and 'Jane' are full of unelaborated vocals and simple chords, yet create no less atmosphere than...
